Give it a few days. The organizers will show up and they won't like the " peacefulness". That does not make national news.

This is what I don't get about the universities having these riots (note - NOT peaceful protests like this one is at the moment).

Round everyone up.
Expell all students involved.
Non students get doxxed and charged with inciting a riot.
Non student funding gets investigated and those responsible also get hit with inciting riots.

If they are peaceful and not breaking any rules or harassing others, I don't see the problem. Other people have the right to hold opinions I disagree with even if I think they are complete idiots or disgusting humans for who and what they support. I am disappointed that there are not more people out there peacefully and rationally engaging with them to explain the other side of their belief system. Don't confront angrily, that is the visual they want. Just go find the actual students that are the useful stooges for the pro agitators and peel them away with logic. Show them videos of what Hamas did to women and kids.

Generally I agree.

But I think we should focus on being proud of TEXAS A&M instead of focusing on the protesters and their message.

I think this was a missed opportunity to have a greater thankfulness for our university as a whole.

Any faculty and staff involved gets immediately fired.

What exactly will the students do if their universities don't comply with their demands? Will they put their money where their mouth is and leave? Are they already applying to other colleges, just in case?

Well then that opens a fun game. I could claim that Trump supporters are terrorists because of the crimes that "they" committed on Jan 6 2021. Then I'd be entitled to get as indignant as OP the next time College Republicans hold a meeting to, like, plan a bake sale.

Wow I had forgotten about them totally until you said that. I'd love to see some of their 90s literature, particularly between '94 and '99. I'm curious how they structured their appeals, and if student safety was even on their radar. I'm guessing it barely made their top 10 talking points.

I could easily imagine that being a small group that was hopelessly trapped in the icy grip of groupthink...just alternately spouting off and rubberstamping each others' appeals to emotion, based on their thoughts and feelings prior to ever stepping foot on our campus...

IMO that's an example where good faith criticism from "the opposition" plus constructive engagement (sans groupthink and temper tantrums) could have made an entire world of difference. But hey I'm just trying to avoid the banhammer myself
