They're probably protesting that they're being asked to do work that they agreed to do when they were hired for a rate that was also agreeable.

I mean that's just my guess.

If I'm correct, that brewery does the contract brewing of Lone Star and Lone Star Light. They do not have time to be be sittin' round and bellyaching. Get your ass back to work you Union lackeys and brew beer

I don't think it's contract brewing as I'm pretty sure they own the Lone Star label. Just glad they finally put the puzzles back on the caps.

Disregard, upon further review, you're right it is contracted as the Lone Star label is apparently owned by Pabst now.

Either way, oh no what ever will we do if they stop making ****ty beer.

Dear New Army,
Back then in its heyday it's about all we olds could afford. You undoubtedly never tried Pearl , Schlitz and Shiner Premium and Miller were too damn expensive!

OP asks a question and within less than 20 replies it's a beer snobbery thread.

Also, the old need to remember that, I think it was PBR, was appropriated by the neck beards before they moved on to soil themselves over IPAs.

So what are they picketing for? And why does Molsen Coors put up with it?

PBR moved up the pole when Lone Star brewery was shut down completely until Olympia came in and bought the brand. If you could find Lone Star at that shutdown time you were King!

And the inflatable rat is made by a non-union company. I've dealt with that rat my entire career.

According to the Teamsters, the company's most recent proposal upped the previously offered -- and rejected -- salaries by a just five-cents-per-hour increase.

If they had any self respect, they wouldn't be creating piss and marketing it as beer.

They brought Pearl to Ft Jackson commissary. We had Merle and Pearl parties with Carolina folks.

In the early 90's I think it was priced around 88 cents, so could just pay with a dollar bill with tax.

On my recall, the puzzles were originally on the Pearl squatty body bottles. At some point, the puzzles move to the Lone Star longneck bottles. But by the time that happened, my eyes were too bad to read those tiny little things.

There's a nice spot a half mile down the road or so @ Altamesa for panhandling. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if that's where they ended up.

Um no. They are protesting greed. It's always strange to me the people who stand next to massive corporations over humans.

In 1997, a long neck of Lone Star was $1.15. During that summer when most students were gone they lowered it to $0.85. Hans, the daytime bartender was annoyed because most folks just dumped the change into the jar. During the school year he was making $0.85/bottle in tips, but During the summer he only made $0.15/bottle in tips. The former was generous, the latter was still over 15%.

Using actual numbers that apply to this specific situation, will you provide context around your statement?

I struggle with statements like this since, to my knowledge, they chose (at some point) to work for the wages they receive. I also don't think they are being forced to work for those wages currently unless Texas has changed its labor laws.

Completely believable. College kids are notoriously poor tippers, in the first place, and drunk ones…well, anyway.

Corporations are completely made up of humans. It's humans vs. humans, every time.
