Rather Fort Worth cops focus their efforts on those street takeover thugs and other crimes rather than checking everybody's papers.

I support our local law enforcement catching people who are committing crimes regardless of their immigration status rather than distracting them with other duties.

Could those efforts be substantially reduced by enforcing current laws relating to the border?

If someone is pulled over w no TX DL and is an illegal immigrant, they should go. Or any other violation or process reveals their illegal status, their exit of this country should be enforced. (I say as I prepare my taxes).

My expectations for Fort Worth, based on its history, are higher.

It's infuriating to me that Mexico gets to have one border policy for its southern border and a different one for its northern border.

I'm warming to the idea of Trump and his missiles.

Plenty of people drive around without a driver's license. I don't necessarily see that as a reason to do any sort of immigration check just because the person has brown skin and speaks Spanish.

Because it's a crime. And you said you cared about that sort of thing. It's also required to have car insurance by law.

These big city police forces are shying away from a tougher more complicated job. The cities/towns with more manageable situations will hopefully do the right thing. But our big cities will be de facto sanctuaries. And NGO's w fresh printed money will be setting up major support.

It's a problem that starts with Biden's importing of illegals and open borders.

Why are we using the terms "immigrants" or "migrants"? They're illegal aliens. Emphasis on "illegal".

How about black skin and speaking Haitian French and speaking Swahili, or brownish skin speaking Mandarin or Pashto, or white skin speaking Russian?

I'm for throwing all of them out of the country.

Sure, it is a crime. Handle the situation like any other case where the driver does not have a license.

Illegal aliens have committed a crime.

Corrupt politicians aiding and abetting illegals to flood our country and undermine our system of government to the detriment of law-abiding citizens seems to me a crime of seminal importance.

Straw man. SB4 isn't a solution to a problem, and being against it does not make one pro-open borders. It just invites more problems, including racially profiling people and arbitrarily detaining them. The state can't deport them, so drag them through the courts and lock them up, and then what? Especially given that illegal immigrants are more likely to be victims of a crime than actually commit crimes. It's a waste of time and resources.

Immigration reform is an actual solution to the border crisis. If only Congress could pass a bill addressing that directly.

oh wait.

Maybe Congress should've submitted a bill that actually addresses the issue rather than send more money to Ukraine to be laundered for them.

We already have laws on the books that will address this issue. This administration is simply refusing to do one of the jobs they were sworn to do.

Also, every single illegal alien has committed a crime. All of 'em. Their presence on our side of the border makes them so.

How many times do people here have to beat you over the head about that "border bill" for you to quit claiming that it fixed anything? It's so stupid how you libs just completely ignore the Biden administrations complete refusal to secure the border with the laws on hand while you blame conservatives for not passing a garbage bill.

Congress did pass a bill that allocated over a billion dollars to building a wall and Biden went and spent it on whatever other BS he wanted to. Now he is being told by a federal judge he is violating administrative law by ignoring the border.

it wasn't perfect but it did a helluva lot to address the problem.

and the reason i know all the attacks on it are bull**** was because the same people who negotiated it torpedoed it SOLELY for political reasons. they can all go **** themselves.

and local and state level law enforcement only have limited resources. it's going to be a mess if and when they start enforcing SB4 and won't do anything to solve the problem.

Only in your liberal mind did that bill fix jack squat. The attacks on it were warranted. Your President does not need any bill to secure the border. He and his administration are refusing to do so, yet you will never admit that. You will just continue to bash conservatives for not wanting a terrible bill passed.

Enforcing the laws already on the books is an actual solution to the border crisis. It's just the senile idiot you elected chooses not to do it and blame Republicans instead. Passing more laws doesn't mean crap if the people in charge act like children and refuse to enforce them.

Still going with that line I see. Conservatives and Conservative politicians were tearing that bill to shreds before Trump ever said a thing about it. Keep spewing those false talking points though.
