I ask this as a serious question, not as something intended to be demeaning. Do you know anything at all about the history of Haiti?

Blame for the first hundred years or so of its history can be laid at the feet of France, which set out to cripple people who just didn't want to be slaves. most of the 20th century, on the other hand, can be laid at the feet of the Duvalier family, who were probably the most staunch anti-communist regime in the western hemisphere.

I made the mistake of ordering a shake when in San Diego last week. Practically couldn't consume it with the compostable crap straw

I don't know if that really is the DR coast, but I have actually scene that scenario on the coast of India with my own eyes. It's very tragic and an environmental disaster. Third world peoples have zero sense, or care, as to what they are doing to their local environment, and the knock on effects as some floats away.

Never been to Haiti, never plan on going. However, I think I can safely say it is a ****hole.
