I have kits for making wine, whiskey, and cheese.

Now I just have to actually do those things.

Learned a new term this week: prompt engineering. That's the skill of knowing how to prompt AI to get it to do what you want.

I'm already working on my master's!

I know, thread highjack.
this won't save you, the AIs are woke and will turn you over to the big tech stasi

I know, hence the thread highjack. I just found the term rather comical.

BTW, if you don't use vi, have REALLY learned Linux?
Ha Funny, I used vi in my UNIX days. You are right hardcore only. Screw that so many simple and easy to use editors these days. Shockingly I use VSCode the only MS product I use.
I moved up to gvim...

None of them fancy schmancy editors for me, thank you!

And I only do command line Linux. What do I need a GUI for? I've got one for Unix on my Mac.

Medical careers seem like a good choice for young people right now but possibly not doctors. So nurse, PA, medic, physical therapist.

Maybe im wrong but would seem to be high demand and above average compensation.

IT and cybersecurity I guess.

Also, linux being hard to learn/use is a narrative from people who knew linux in the 00s and 2010s.

Linux is one of many security decisions you can make. Just changing some browser settings can make a big difference. Tons of info out there on how improve security no matter what kind of user you are. Linux itself has not been hard to use in 10 years. Its as hard or easy as you want to make it. That said it is the most secure OS if used and configured correctly

Medicine is still useful and likely always will be.

Any skilled labor will likely always be needed.

Apparently being a young good looking female with loose morales pays well according to the insane onlyfans numbers.

Luckily my 25 year old son is into IT/cybersecurity and guns so he is in a good position!

BTW, when y'all say "learn Linux" are y'all just referring to using the GUI OS as opposed the Windows OS? Because I don't see how that could have really ever been hard.

As a TMG, it isnt all it is made to be IMO. My parents are also TMGs. You can get any info you need on the interwebs. If you like hanging out with 60yo+ folks a lot of the time and volunteer work, then go for it. But the education is not what it was.

I agree. Not sure where this is coming from these days. Ubuntu Linux for example is easier than windows and has been for a long time. Kali or Parrot not so much because they come packaged with powerful tools. Everything depends on what you want to do. As you likely well know

Its frustrating this myth has persisted for so long.

My guess is that people look at Linux as the command line stuff I do...like going back before Windows and using DOS.

Because every GUI interface I've ever used, even if it sucked, is not THAT hard to figure out.

The World is changing. Freedom and the constitution are on the way out and societal engineering and Marxism are coming in with the promise of poverty and economic hardship. So what skills or ideas do you have to help us all navigate this migration to Marxism.

Some broad based examples include: Then its time to reduce keyboard time and start learning real skills such as:
Chemistry
Logistic
communications
IT and Cyber Security
Basic engineering concepts- such as water collection, solar or off grid power options.
Physical health and conditioning and all that implies.
The prepper thing- I have to learn that one.
Etc, you get the drift.

Enhanced skills in these areas can provide for your economic and physical security.

So here is may contribution: For better communication security:

Learn the Linux OS, particularly Parrot OS or Kali. Parrot can run on older computers. Specifically Learn the TOR Browser- Yes its a gate way to the dark web -STAY AWAY. NOTE: its still not fool proof but far, far more secure than main stream tools. For browsers Dump Chrome and Edge. Brave with Duck Duck go is more secure. Brave is solid and catching on Bigly. And Duck Duck Go is anonymous but signs are its selling out to the left. I'll be replacing it as my search engine

Proton email based in Switzerland. The Feds cant demand server access. There are treaties that the US has all over the world but not w/ Switzerland where Proton is based. In fact use Swiss based resources as much as possible. Lots of details on this. Spend time to research this.

As always never be stupid and assume anything is fully fool proof. But there are many cases where some tools and platforms are far far far more secure than the big tech junk Microsoft, Apple, and google provide.

BTW Phones ARE NOT SECURE.

All of this stuff is CURRENTLY legal. Nut up and learn something new and useful

Also the crap about Linux being difficult are lies. Granted Kali is tougher as it has many security and penetration tools. For more general use go with Parrot. Even Ubuntu is far more secure than Windows or even Apple. No you dont have to be an expert but you do have to be smart and educated about things and that take some time and discipline.

So whatcha got. Ideal firearm suggestions for home defense, a recommendation for personal defense- say a tool or skill, Gardening tips, Water collection, low voltage power ideas, etc, etc. even links to the outdoor board, anything useful and legal.
Critical thinking and knowing how to avoid groupthink and emotions when making decisions. Anyone quitting their job and moving their families onto remote compounds right now lack these skills.

Stuff you know how to use proficiently and can fix.

In my case, AR-15, Beretta 9mm, pump action 12 gauge and a Jeep Rubicon.

I'm also proficient with an M2 .50 Caliber Machine Gun but, this guy in Waco had one and it didn't end well for him so I decided not to get one.
