Not defeated. But I do have my doubts about the security of any elections now, which is an unfortunate reality when no court took up cases of obvious cheating in 2020.

So obvious there was no actual evidence of it anywhere to be found.

The only time I ever feel "defeated" is when conservative like the f16 board say the country is lost. I still see the USA as the best country on the planet.
people who doompost about how the country is lost, or pine for its destruction because they feel like they're losing the culture war, are basically just the four corners of this meme

Well I guess it is hard to see for yourself when you have your head planted right up Joe Biden's ass. The fact that these courts declined cases, citing "lack of standing", does not mean there is no evidence. You simply ignore things that don't support your stance.

Must suck to go through life thinking everything political is binary.

Where do I say anything is binary?

Water line breaks, conveniently, but nothing to see here.
Panels get put over windows to prevent viewing of vote counters, but nothing to see here.
Yes, there are all kinds of explanations for these such behaviors, but I discount them. Because would-be tyrants are the same throughout history.

OP, there is only one way out and nobody has the stomach for it... not yet anyway. It's gonna get a lot worse.

As far as the Christian perspective, think about Rome and the apostles. Peter was crucified. Paul was beheaded. We've not gotten that bad, but it's coming. My point is that you have to set your sight on things above. When you feel down, look up. That's a cliche but it's true. There is nothing new under the sun.

Bork wrote the book "Slouching towards Gomorrah" in 1996! Almost 30 years ago! We have arrived.

Remember when Peter stepped out of the boat and actually walked on water while keeping his eye on Jesus, and it wasn't until he took his focus off Jesus and started focusing on the wind and the waves that he sunk.

I understand all that you wrote and feel OP. However, my truly meaningful contribution is:
Concentrate your focus on Jesus!

First, I feel your pain, but I believe it is being diseminated with intent. Social media and psychological influencing is new to us of the elder population, and we are obviously more susceptible to its impact. I would recommend you refocus on yourself, your family, friends and your faith. Stay true to your personal beliefs, and the things that bring joy to your life.

Everything is cyclical, nothing remains constant except for change. The overall health of the economy always leads to changes in political power, and this economy is ripe for another adjustment. Social issues usually take longer to illustrate their negative impacts before the shift in attitude happens. We will see the adverse effects more clearly 20 years from now, and those that maintained a moral and ethical lifestyle will be all the better for it. A lot of DNA is being voluntarily removed from the gene pool as is a product of natural selection, and that is a remedy in and unto itself.

Politically, you must see the corruption across the board throughout our government as well as the permanent and distinct divide. Choosing Right or Left will not improve the political climate this election. Both parties are entrenched and have clearly illustrated that fact, so the best immediate alternative would be a 3rd party although none has ever truly been relevant.

I'm older with my children almost all being young adults now. They as well as their peers are intelligent, morally upright, somewhat financially conservative and all seem to be enjoying their lives while looking forward to what the future will bring. They do not see our country and the world from such a cynical point of view as we do. They offer a great place to garner a bit of hope and optimism from.

Last, I would recommend spending some recreation time reading and watching historical periods. They offer great insights to the ups and downs of societies throughout time. For the most part regardless of the atrocity, humanity has endured and improved.
