Because republicans don't want to stop illegal immigration. Not one republican president since before WW2 has done anything to fight illegal immigration. Democrats are accelerating at astronomical levels but republicans are just as much to blame.

Eisenhower deported over a million mostly Mexicans in a border enforcement action well after WW2.Gaw617 said:

I agree if it's an argument over pending legislation. Everybody weigh in with your opinions and try to shape it to your preference. Perfectly understandable.DRocks said:

Don't worry guys, after November they can just whine from the sidelines as the minority party. As they drive the GOP off the cliff. MTG can take over the leadership and just put the stabbing knife into the GOP and kill it once and for all.

So if they vote again when Scalise comes back and Moore votes yes as he was planning, that vote passes 216Y and 215N, correct?
Totally agree. That's a rookie error on Johnson's part, along with the failed Israeli aid vote.TriAg2010 said:MemphisAg1 said:

Here's what I don't get… what was the urgency in holding the vote today? Why not wait until you know you've got the vote to hold the vote?
Romney is FOR open borders and China. He is even carrying the same lying water that Biden's puppet masters programmed him with. Anti-American piece of ***** Rob and I told y'all when Romney ran for president that he was a piece of *****annie88 said:“It's really appalling.”

You don't hold the vote if you don't have the votes.
Embarrassing incompetency in the R party, from Trump to the RNC, to party leaders in Congress.
A lot of good R governors out there. We need a clean sweep of R party leadership.

The 3 no votes against impeaching Mayorkas were:
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) February 7, 2024
Mike Gallagher (WI-08)
Tom McClintock (CA-05)
Ken Buck (CO-04)
Blake Moore changed his vote no when asked by leadership for procedural reasons to make a motion to reconsider so that we can vote on impeachment again next week.…
This is the difference between dems and Republicans. They will do anything to win. We can't even agree of have the fortitude on seemingly simple things.Agthatbuilds said:Dem Rep. Al Greene - wheeled in just as the vote appeared headed toward a tie, no shoes on, in what looked like hospital scrubs as pants - said he had surgery. But came to vote against the impeachment.

I think he opposes misuse of the intent of the constitutions language. If some GOP members believe it didn't meet the level of high crimes and misdemeanors they must vote their conscience. If we keep going down this route we will diminish the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors and it will just be a continual back and forth impeachment process. I'm not saying Mayorkas doesn't suck at his job, but I find it hard to believe those who voted against it did so for reasons other than they just didn't believe it met the standard required. If you look at the short list of successful impeachments of cabinet members, they were pretty egregious and could not be defended as working within the confines of their roles.Funky Winkerbean said:DRocks said:Damn I'm glad you're the minority.Ellis Wyatt said:Bull***** That cabinet member took an oath to uphold the Constitution.
