Amy new bill won't force Biden to comply. Any new bill might be used to force any future republican to allow illegal immigration that should not be permitted.

No deal.
The ONLY reason senate Republicans dont want this bill is because the Dear Leader Trump told them not to. He needs this to be an issue for him to run on. Any excuses they throw out are pure bull***** They don't actually care about fixing the broken immigration system or increasing border security. This legislation is much needed to all border patrol to better process migrants and deal with unaccompanied minors, increase staffing, and build new processing centers. It's good legislation (that can certainly be tweaked some more), but both sides need to negotiate in good faith.

TRUMP IS THE ONLY REASON THIS BILL MAY NOT PASS. THE REPUBLICANS NEED THIS PROBLEM MORE THAN THEY NEED THE SOLUTION.

Period. End of story.

It's legislation that prohibits law enforcement from doing anything about the people flooding across the border until 5,000 cross.

That is 1.8 million a year BEFORE the flood can be stemmed.

Legalizing an invasion is not good legislation.
No it doesn't. That threshold allows for the border to be shut down entirely, including to commerce. Which is a drastic measure.

The bill also allows for the hiring of over 1000 new BP officers, immigration judges, and establishing new processing centers.

Some criticisms of the bill are in good faith, but the all out attacks on it being an "open border bill" are bad faith BS lodged by Trump and his supporters. Again, because Trump does not want Biden to address the issue that Trump wants to run on. Trump's words are purely out of his own self-interest.

Day 1 of the Biden Administration
-Border wall immediately defunded He did, but then funded it years later, but said 'walls don't work'
-Emergency Declaration withdrawn If you are talking about the Covid one, it didn't end till 2023
-Deportation of illegal aliens paused Tried, but blocked by courts.
-Remain In Mexico policy terminated Blocked by courts and ended with Covid declaration

ETA, I believe all of those items were his 2020 campaign promises, except ending the Covid emergency declaration, which he didn't try to do till 2023.

Don't start with mischaracterizing why Biden released the funds for the wall.

FactCheck of all places slaps down your first claim. I don't have the time but all of your other claims are tenuous at best.

Quote:

After the Department of Homeland Security announced it would waive laws to enable miles of border wall construction in Texas, President Joe Biden said he "can't stop" the money being spent on border barriers because of the way it was appropriated by Congress. That's correct, experts told us.

Anybody who thinks a bill needs to be passed to make a difference at the border has the critical thinking skills of a paper clip.

Anybody who tells you a bill needs to pass is either a) see above or b) playing politics

Any republican in the b category sucks at playing politics

Economic opportunity is the main force driving migration. Therefore, since illegal employment is a magnet for illegal immigration, it only makes sense that the United States government must find ways to take that magnet away. We must continue to step up work site enforcement, which requires Congress to fund more law enforcement positions for ICE to actually investigate companies across the nation. But first and foremost, E-Verify needs to be mandatory.

for years Republicans were shouting from the rooftops that we needed tougher enforcement measures. This bill contains those measures. It's actually a pretty conservative bill based on the information we have so far.

Shutting down the border completely and enacting mass deportations are drastic measures and are unrealistic.

The dog caught up with the car. Senators from both parties came together to draft a bill, but if it passes then Trump loses and issue to run on. And in the GOP, Trump always comes first.

Encoding 1.8 million illegal entrants per year into law as a non-emergency status isn't tough or conservative. Please try again.

but the immigration system is broken (has been for a long time) and needs fixing. border patrol is overwhelmed and cannot process the volume of migrants coming through.

Seems to me that if the problem is that so many illegals are being let in that they cannot be processed then the solution is...

to stop letting illegals into the country in the first place!
You say it like it's so easy. Trump never build his border wall and the border is really long. It's nearly impossible to patrol all of it with the current manpower and infrastructure we have. This bill addresses that.
And why, pray tell, was the wall not built? Did it have anything to do with Democrats screaming about how expensive and inhumane it was?

Note that we're now underwriting over 8 million illegal residents from the past 3 years, and many more are arriving each day - those that aren't dying in the attempt, causing this administration to request more money that was needed for the wall to now 'process' the expected future new arrivals. So in retrospect, the wall wasn't so expensive, was it?

And as for being inhumane, that was a such a pathetic false flag, it doesn't even warrant a response.

I would modify that to say that Economic opportunity is the main force driving migrators.

They are actually being used (and abused) by left leaning NGOs with the support of faceless beaurocrats who are the actual main force driving migration. Their objective is not economic opportunity. Rather, their objective is demographic change within the US.

Only problem is that we are using regulations that allow asylum seekers to work legally while they wait YEARS for their court hearing, almost all of which get denied because the claim is not legitimate.

Employers CANNOT discriminate based on national origin if the worker is a legal worker based in federal requirements, so all these illegals can get jobs.

That is why many politicians in both parties are looking the other way.

Numerous Republicans were speaking against it BEFORE Trump ever weighed in on it.

Ted Cruz said:

Quote:

"This supplemental bill is a kamikaze plane in a box canyon, with no exit headed for a train wreck," Cruz said during a press conference. "The chances of this bill passing the house are 0.000%. It ain't gonna pass."
Doesn't sound like this has anything to do with Trump. But, keep repeating the talking points that were spoonfed to you.

Why? Why is the bolded part drastic and unrealistic? It is literally the policy followed by nearly every other country in the world when it comes to their borders? Why is it drastic and unrealistic to do what every other country in the world does to people that cross their borders illegally?

it is a fascinating argument that the best equipped and trained military could not shut down the border if our leaders decided that was what is needed.

That isn't what the bill is about. The bill is counting people either captured illegally entering or coming to a POE and claiming asylum. Countries all over the world manage to segregate how they treat people with and without legal entry permission and people who are caught trying to enter illegally. Why is it an insurmountable challenge for the most advanced and prosperous nation on the planet? The answer is that it isn't insurmountable if you don't have the chamber of commerce using the illegal immigration pipeline as a tool to keep labor rates low and donating to politicians on both sides to keep any solution that turns off the tap from coming to fruition.
