This is what I heard him say on Hewitt's show.

If you want to shut people up, then produce the bill and stop playing games.

To do a deal on the border, you need two parties willing to operate in good faith.

When you have a President on the other side of this agreement who removed the border protections of his predecessor in favor of an open border, tacitly refusing to enforce immigration law, then how on earth can you trust him to keep his end of any deal he signs? What mechanism in this bill, beyond the total and complete control and manipulation of the White House, forces this President to actually do his job and stop illegal immigration and secure the border?

Of course, a President who can be trusted not to be trusted may very well be a feature to the GOP-E Senators involved in this sellout deal.
