As an aside, my wife loved Barbie when she was a kid. I was out of town working so she bribed our teenage sons to go with her. I told her it was feminist BS and she'd hate it. I was right LOL.
Except America was also nominated and she did do an amazing job.

Individual awards are given for the individual performance. Gosling acted his ass off in that role, even if the role itself was not entirely serious.ttu_85 said:

On the other hand, I would argue that the role was NOT "unserious." The Ken character actually showed the most growth and development of any character in the film.
