I honestly know quite a few people that just plan trips, including business, as far in advance as possible, rent a car or truck, and drive. With two or more drivers rotating the others can work done from the vehicle along the way. I know families that certainly have the means to fly but just add a few days to the trip and drive. And it's mostly all driven by hating the airlines.

This nonsense could all end real quick. The American retail shareholder owns a controlling interest in these publicly traded companies. They are totally disorganized and never put forward proxy materials to change the BOD or execs. Blackrock and other institutions have total control with only 10-15% ownership.

Also, if everyone on TA and X posting about woke corporations just shorted the stock at the same time, there would be a run on shares and possible ch 11, which would also change the BOD and execs.

I live in Denver and over the past year thought about going back to United because I noticed the fares were becoming competitive. I'll now stay with American and Southwest.

I'll wait for a leadership and culture change at United before considering them again.

No.

We have dozens of CEOs and hundreds of public companies who have openly implemented full blown anti-white policies and no one cares. No lawsuits. Nothing has happened. We have equity councils deciding on new hires to ensure the candidate is brown enough in skin and/or thought. We have diversity quotas for leadership ranks regardless of ability. We have diversity quotas for mission critical jobs regardless of ability.

The only change that has happened is that these same companies are changing terminology to avoid public backlash. Example: some are starting to no longer use the term ESG because they know it's a hot button word. So they are simply using different words now to get around the issue.

But they are still pushing forth with hiring non-whites and those that aren't able so they can virtue signal.

Problem is a lot of these types bring their personal beliefs into the work place to incorporate them into the culture. I wouldn't want an alcoholic leader at my company because there are always chances that a decision could be compromised.

Unfortunately, I ended up with United. Garbage airline.
I think after two bankruptcies, the Continental that emerged in the mid 90s was one of the better post-deregulation airlines. I didn't fly much, but I certainly chose them if I could. I could pick up a free shuttle at Ellington and avoid driving across town to Intercontinental.

That shuttle was done in by two thing. First, they started operating out of Terminal A instead of the ground floor or Terminal C. There was no direct connection between the terminals, so they had to drive you across the flight ramp in a bus. Also, 9/11 and the TSA made the small Ellington operation unsustainable.

They dropped service to where I live now after the United merger, so I haven't flown them in years.
