That's absurd. When I regularly see 5 commercials in a row and 4 of them feature black women it's impossible not to notice that 80% of the commercials are routinely featuring 6% of the population. There is something to it beyond random chance. And then the very people who are constantly obsessed with "representation" start with the attacks like "Why do you care so much what skin color they are?" What a joke..

A white person can't even voice an animated black character without it being seen as racist now but as soon as straight whites are virtually replaced it becomes "Why do you care what color they are?" and "Why does it bother you to see black people?"

So disingenuous.

Oh.....so that is what this thread is about? People are upset that too many commercials don't actually represent the reality of the racial makeup of couples in the US? Those interracial couples, they're on the tv too much.

Yes. As an interracial, there are too many of us in commercials. Thanks for noticing.

It's not the race of the people that matters, it's the agenda being pushed that does.

If everybody was white and had Biden shirts, then this thread would still exist.

Evidently so.

I mean seriously, we live in a society now where camping is white supremacy, being good at math is white supremacy, living in Vermont is white supremacy, BBQ is white supremacy, etc. It's beyond what you could even parody not long ago.

Banks advertise special loans to non-whites, whites are disproportionally excluded from universities, openly told they shouldn't run for office so we can have more non-whites in charge, government will tell us restrictions only apply to whites, and on and on. And if whites notice or comment on any of this they're told that's only more proof of their racism which will require more punishment and submission.

In the series of commercials I just watched in the Bills/Eagles game, the couple was biracial. All four commercials.

I guess I should at least be thankful they were opposite sex couples.
Why are you so triggered about it?

Boy…you don't have an independent or critical thought in your entire brain, do you?

You obviously struggle at pattern recognition.

A+ for constant deflection though.

It's a designed humiliation ritual that says "your women will be forced into interracial marriages now that we have conquered you as a people and demographically replaced you."

Yep. Its clear this is a so called progressive effort by elites. It has nothing to do with marketing and advertising which would be targeting specific target markets with specific products. This is marketing 101 and is totally ignored by the Ivy league and the powers that be these days.

Social and political engineering is the real agenda. Business has little to do with it. Look at Disney doubling down on wokism after this approach crushed Disney's stock prices.

If you haven't noticed the trend -- and I don't know how you could miss it -- the Twitter account "White Men Are Stupid in Commercials" will open your eyes.
absolutely have noticed that. Time after time you see a POC which is almost always black explaining/helping /leading /solving an issue while the white person just sits their basking in the POC brilliance. Kind of a " Black Savior complex " the other thing I see a lot is white actors in feminine roles or positions. It is all about tearing everything down that is white/straight/traditional /European.

Found this by a guy who is in Advertising and has his own blog and confirms everything we say. It is a good read and not long.

It's immensely funny for those of us in engineering because the amount of blacks is basically negligible in any field of engineering. There are few Hispanics as well. It's basically 80% white with Asians and Indians being the rest.

Isn't the goal of a marketing campaign (commercials) to appeal to your target audience? People relate to things that feature people that look like them. It's in our DNA. Commercials have <30 seconds of our time they are going to lean into our most basic of senses to capture our attention.

No. That's how how business works anymore. They know advertising has little effect on product sales and the stock price so it's used to push ESG and DEI narratives instead. Additionally, global finance uses it as a humiliation ritual. There is a reason these ads only are shown in the West.

Might as well add a narration at the end of every commercial.
Something like…

"You are less of a racist and can avoid receiving prejudice for your inherent racism if you are white and marry someone of a different ethnicity."

Look, I'll admit, I said these things on here to get a reaction. It is true that the makeup of the people in commercials do not represent the actual percentage of the population. I understand what the "people in charge" are trying to do with these commercials in reference to diversity and inclusiveness.

I think that it is beneficial for younger kids to see successful people who look like them on tv. The conversation needs to start with something that won't trigger the common disingenuous response that you noted above.

Disney acknowledge ESG policies is bad for business in their recent 10-K filing:

Quote:

Further, consumers' perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands. Consumer tastes and preferences impact, among other items, revenue from advertising sales (which are based in part on ratings for the programs in which advertisements air), affiliate fees, subscription fees, theatrical film receipts, the license of rights to other distributors, theme park admissions, hotel room charges and merchandise, food and beverage sales, sales of licensed consumer products or sales of our other consumer products and services.

I hope my daughters marry a good Christian man.
And when they are dating, they are to date the family of the young man as well. You not only marry the man but you marry the family. And both parents need to meet and talk about matters of faith and future loyalty before they hitch up. They need to bond for the possible marriage bond to be stronger. I don't care what ethnicity these men of God are.

That's my hope.

The point about seeing successful people on TV who look like them is a good point. They don't see it with baby momma and no daddy while being raised by their grandma.

But why can't they see successful people who look like them who are married to people who look like them? I know that's also not representative of reality - 70% born out of wedlock - but it's a lot more representative than what we see now. It might also encourage them to get married one day.
