There are posters on this forum who bash the FBI at every turn but there are thousands of people in that organization and many are doing good work that we should appreciate such as taking people like this off the street. Everybody in that organization is not sitting around trying to figure out ways to charge Trump with something.

This guy was previously an athletics director at St Michael's school. You want these people outed and arrested and not around your kids.

Man…this thread took a really strange turn.

I thought there was one subject everyone could agree on but apparently there's always one out there that just has to play devil's advocate for some odd reason.

Just awful all around. Glad I didn't read the affidavit.

If proven true, this guy should be killed. People like him are incurable. That desire will always be there. The death penalty is absolutely warranted; people like him ruin countless lives.

This may help provide some context. There are excerpts from the affidavits in that article.
Had to stop reading. The one significant detail regarding this case is the confirmation that pizzagate is a real thing The same "pizza" terminology is used in the Podesda emails etc.

This case is specifically reigniting the coals for all of the "conspiracy theorists" on twitter saying I told you so. There are too many people in Hollywood, positions of power, etc. that are tied to all of this and it is getting swept under the rug.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I mean literally the whole pizzagate started with emails of high-ranking libs and others referring to pizza as a euphemism for CSAM. But yeah, nothing to see there folks just move along. Only QAnon and friends would believe pizza referred to abusing children sexually.

What we have is yet another in your face debunking of things the liberal and the complicit media labeled nothing but right-wing conspiracy theories and threats to democracy and such.

Why do people call libs "evil"? I think this sort of shows why.

I know pizzagate was centered at the left, but I don't even care at this point. The writing is in the sand for too many celebs and too many people in leadership positions.

They all need to come down. Left or right.

We live in such an effed society to just turn the other way. Before we know it, no one will be talking about it again.

How easy is it to plant child porn on someone?

Granted there are definitely some pedos out there but man piss off the wrong person and all of a sudden you got child pron on your computer.
Then you demand a polygraph and voice stress analyzer.

You stand your ground and declare your innocence on everything holy. That's what I would do.

You speak publicly about it and look straight in to the camera.

This is what innocent people should do. It's telling to me when they don't.
Except it is way more prudent to engage a lawyer who will tell you to absolutely NOT do any of the things you suggest.

I agree with what you are saying from an emotional standpoint, but it would be incredibly unwise from a legal standpoint.

No good answer if falsely accused, but that does not appear to apply in this case.
This is 100% correct.

Do NOT say ANYTHING to ANYBODY. Any good lawyer will tell you that. ANYTHING you say can be used to convict you - even if it's not for the original crime.

Posters have dropped that video on here numerous times from the law prof explaining why (I know he's saying to not talk to cops - but anything you say publicly they can use).

How'd you like to be completely innocent of THIS crime but still get convicted due to something you said that COULD be used as evidence?

BTW, I'll be the bad guy.

This guy is 100% innocent until proven guilty. There's no reason he should be fired until then. AGAIN, how would YOU like to lose your job just because you've been unjustly charged with a crime you had not committed?

NOW...if he's guilty, I hope they cut his pecker off, feed it to him covered in ghost pepper hot sauce, then slowly lower him into a vat of acid.

But, until he's found guilty, treat him as innocent.

fka is completely correct that there is no good answer right now for this guy - guilty or innocent.

FWIW, I think he probably IS guilty, but, I'll wait for the evidence to come in. Maybe it's because I'm not so trusting of the feds anymore, but mostly because I'm really serious about following the Constitution.

He did all but confess per the affidavit.

I had a close family member go through this several years ago and I unfortunately had a front row seat. The accused could not even get a job with Amazon with such charges pending.

Should this guy keep his job? That is hard to say. The A&M system is in a tough spot and likely will terminate this guy at some point.

Again, no good answers between accusation and verdict. Seems like there should be some sort of innocence project to restore lives of the falsely accused. I have rarely seen where there is not lifelong stigma even if the accuser fully recants and the accused is fully, unequivocally exonerated.

Edited to add: You are correct in that it would not be often, but it can and does happen. Non-TL;DR version below.

Maybe you bought a used computer or was given one with your job that was not completely wiped and "bleach bitted".

Maybe you have an old email account that someone started sending it to and it exists on your computer.

Maybe your nephew used your computer or iPad over Thanksgiving and its sitting in your cache.

Maybe somebody planted it.

Its sort of the reason we have investigations and trials. Its not common but its much more plausible than you think.

If he's admitted it, then fine. He's admitted guilt.

So break out the ghost pepper sauce.

And yeah...falsely accused people often DO carry the stigma even after exoneration. Some people just will not believe they are not guilty.

Agree with the sentiment, but the people the feds go after for this type of crime are the people they know they can convict. The USAOs pride themselves in their conviction rates. From a constitutional standpoint, yeah innocent until proven guilty. But from a realistic standpoint they have him dead to rights. That affidavit is about as damning as it gets.

Barring some sort of procedural search warrant issue where evidence has to be thrown out, he's going to plead guilty and will be a member of Club Fed. He may be technically sentenced for one or two counts, but judge will have discretion to look at his other alleged behavior and consider it in the sentence. Mandatory minimum is 5 years. My guess is he gets at least 10 years. Also no parole in federal system so he has to serve at least 85% of his sentence.

Read the entire arrest affidavit. He was messaging about CSAM, as well as doing some absolutely disgusting things to his own daughter. And the CSAM including things like pictures instructing how to penetrate young girls as young as infants.

This wasn't some sad story of a dude who accidentally ended up receiving CSAM. I know Clint, and have known him since I was 11. Three weeks ago I was communicating with him on Facebook messenger regarding a silly meme, and I would've told you he was one of the best people I know. I am absolutely shocked disgusted.

Here's the link to the criminal complaint, so you can see for yourself the evil things he's accused of doing:

Kelly Brown, a spokesperson for A&M told Texas Scorecard, "By law, we can't fire an employee based solely on an arrest. We have just completed our own investigation and will take appropriate action while the accused remains under house arrest in Houston. Brown confirmed to Texas Scorecard late Friday afternoon that Harnden is no longer employed at Texas A&M following the results of their internal investigation.

So what exactly happened here? Someone Whatsapped him some child porn and the cops rushed to arrest him? Female teachers sleep with their underage students all the time and everyone laughs about it. Pretty effed up.

I read the affidavit and whilst it is not incredibly difficult, it is not "easy". These days, you have to actively seek out illegal and banned content. In the old days particularly before the various acts of the late 1990s and the aughts, you could vary easily stumble into the most depraved of the pron world just by trying to find pics of Bette Midler naked.

When you are deep into Whatsapp, then Wickr, then 'dark web' sites then you know you are crossing a line.

I would say the internet community and regulators and investigators have pushed the content into the far dark reaches of the internet, but where there is a will and a market, there's a way and a supplier.

But there is a huge issue looming on the horizon and that is AI generated CSAM. I don't think there are any good answers on that yet. Going to be very difficult to have crimes with no underlying victims portrayed in the content.

Some countries have made this illegal to possess but I believe in the US the waters are muddied at best.

tl;dr it is abhorrent behavior but as tech evolves the rules, laws and punishments have to be adaptive as well. And since the advent of the Internet, access has been greatly restricted / driven to the dark corners of the interwebs.

The FBI does do it 24 / 7. They have a program called "Innocent Images". Agents are online all day enticing and tracking predators.

I'm pretty sure Harris County Sheriffs have a similar program but not sure if it's full time.

It's been a minute since I did the FBI Citizens Academy but the presentation they gave on this program was by far the most eye opening to me. You have no idea how many sick and depraved people are out their hunting kids.
