You are a LOSER if you believed Mexico would pay for the wall

The wall is a liberal jobs program. It would have been worthless without a massive increase in BP personnel and tech (and humans to run THAT).

What DID work, and one of the few things he did well, was enforce existing law. All it took Biden was a pen stroke to change that and we have what we have now. The only difference between now and Trump is BP being tasked with actually protecting the border.

"We all had a lot of fun."

And that's the important thing. Trumpers still riding the high from the 2016 run and win, still stuck in the past.

Yeah, I was out of touch.
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough.

It's ok Donald. We understand you're old and confused.

according to Trump's own words out of his mouth:

his own voters who believed what he said in the past are losers.

you don't need to vote for him because he has all the votes he needs.

Hate to derail a TDS thread, but it has only been just a few short decades since Mexico indeed was fortifying the border and BEGGING the US to do something about illegal immigration as they needed the workers to "remain in Mexico" for their own economy.

Awesome. This and quoting polls. This, ladies and gentleman is the 2023 state of mind of the Trumper and their common retort. Never, a thoughtful response, never a presentation or defense of ideas, Never a discussion of specifics. And never a debate- official or otherwise. This is the mindless and instant reaction.

And a classic example of what demagoguery looks like. Every day, the Trumpers sound more and more like far left NPC's that still backs that mindless vegetable Biden.

Biden and Trump supporters have so much in common.

As a candidate, Donald Trump would famously boast that if elected, he'd "surround myself only with the best and most serious people" -- adding: "We want top-of-the-line professionals."

How many of his cabinet members has he (and people on Texags) called dumb, losers, horrible, disloyal, etc?

but EVERY time they only have "WHATABOUTISM" that Biden is worse.

That's the entire point when there is a primary election going on.

Didn't I read where DeSantis has to surround himself with people that teach him how to smile in a non-awkward manner and other fine people who describe rifle parts as weapons, drones and bullet proof vests?

Those definitely seem more beautiful and serious than Trump's people.

It would appear that a vast majority of Republicans think Trump is simply a better choice than other R candidates. Probably because the other R candidates appear to be comprised of 2 crazed Indians and an empty suit from Yale/Harvard.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Trump's opponents don't even really need to put forth effort producing ad material against him because that old fool does it for them on an almost daily basis. All they have to do is show old Trump clips then new Trump clips. It would be a two-fer....show his flip-flops and lies plus highlight just how old and way past his prime he is now.
He's a clown at this point and is a shell of who he was in 2015/2016.

Yep. Literally can't say one positive thing about Dear Leader or defend whatever latest idiotic things he continues to say, just more talk about polls and about how he's inevitable so might as well get on board. As much as the Trump lemmings wish we lived in a dictatorship with King Trump in charge forever, that's thankfully not how our system works.

Seeing as how maga's support of Trump is as cultish as it gets, given those two choices only, they'd probably say they were dumb as rocks. I don't think they'd ever put down Trump when they had an option to put themselves down instead of him.

I have no problem with an executive surrounding himself with people that help educate them where they lack knowledge. It shows humility and there is no way anyone could possibly know everything needed to be President. The key is surrounding yourself with high quality people and according to Trump and his supporters, Haley, Pence, Burr, Sessions, every Chief of Staff, Bolton, Tillerson, etc… were horrible people.

At least Desantis has served in a War Zone even if it was in the JAG office.
SockStilkings
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just pointing out that Medal of Honor nominee and vaunted war hero Beau Biden also served in JAG office in "war zone" if I recall.

His chiefs of staff were notoriously weak and betrayed him. I think a lot of the criticism of the others is also based on perceived backstabbing and betrayal. Pence was loyal almost to a fault during his tenure and he deserves respect for that. You could say the same for Haley.

Bolton, Tillerson, Sessions, Barr were all in it for themselves and not Trump nor the POTUS they agreed to serve. Just my take.

Regardless, I get your point and agree. It is a fair criticism of Trump and is one of his biggest negatives / issues.

Nothing Trump says or does will separate him from MAGA. It may affect the non-MAGA Trump supporters if they pay attention, which most aren't.

As I've said before, if Trump comes out in support of "gender affirming care" for children, MAGA will support it. If Trump comes out in favor of gun control, MAGA will support it as well. MAGA is not conservative; it is a movement focused on one man and whatever he says.

To get this out of the way...Biden is super old and likely has diminished mental capacity and is not remotely a good choice for the Dems to run again.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-explains-how-he-would-force-mexico-to-pay-for-border-wall/

Quote:

Donald Trump's campaign released a memo on Tuesday that said it would force Mexico to pay for a border wall by threatening to cut off billions of dollars in money transfers that Mexicans who are living in the U.S. send home.

"Mexico currently receive $24 billion in remittance payments annually from the United States. This provides substantial leverage for the United States to obtain from Mexico the funds necessary to pay for a border wall," his campaign said in a statement.

If elected president, the memo explains, Trump would threaten to change a rule under the Patriot Act to cut off some of the money Mexico receives through wire transfers. The memo said the majority of the $24 billion a year "comes from illegal aliens" that they send back to their families.

But if Mexico agrees to make a one-time payment for the border wall, Trump's campaign said he wouldn't move forward with the rule change.
"It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year," the memo says.

Guys, when Trump said "one time payment" he did not really mean "payment." Stop using his words against him! Pure TDS!!

If that is what you think, go for it. Seems at least 5 others agree with you.

Instead, I actually understood what he meant and do not need to defend him on this at all. Sort of odd you both failed to understand what he meant and again failed to understand my comment.

Also, I am not a Trump is always right person. You can go just a few posts above to show where I criticized him. So that sort of makes your comment appear a bit unhinged or simply not factual.

Ignore it? I quoted it!

An actual payment from Mexico was always part of Trump's plan. Sounds like a good plan!

I suspect Congress didn't go for it, and can't blame Trump for that. But stop trying to re-write history and act like payment from Mexico was not THE CENTRAL PART OF THIS TRUMP PLAN!!!
