Red meat does often have more saturated fats, does it not? I love me some beef, but we've scaled it back due to trying to eat healthier and save money.

Not turning down a good steak, though.

But what does saturated fat have to do with diabetes?
My comment was more related to red meat not being good for you and not necessarily the diabetes part.

There's no definitive research that shows red meat isn't good for you. There's a lot of propaganda and fake research out there, most with bias, small sample sizes and non-random samples, but those "studies" were designed to create specific findings.

If you doubt what I'm saying, do a youtube search for Dr. Ken Berry.

Can't make this stupidity up, but it is Harvard so not surprised.

Did they also find a way to blame the diabetes on Israel?

I had a 16oz grass fed ribeye for dinner. Sous vide for 2.5 hours and then seared in the cast iron! Had my 16oz NY strip last night.

The people that are eating red meat and getting diabetes are ordering their red meat with French fries and a large coke.

4 years ago I found out my blood sugar was way too damn high. I had crossed over in to diabetic levels. What did I do? Cut out red meat? Hell no. I cut out carbs (sugar). Way less bread, no sugary drinks, etc. Probably ate more red meat than I already did after that. Lots of protein. Result? Not only not diabetic, but not even prediabetic. Normal blood sugar. This article is garbage.

Bingo! Eat the meat. Take the top bun off, only eat a few fries (or none), go with a diet drink or tea or water. Massive difference in carbs.

Why are tofu and celery going to lead to better health at old age than a ribeye?

I have often wondered if there is some infectious cause of diabetes that has gone largely undetected.

The reason I wonder that is because everyone in my immediate family except me has or had diabetes. Not only that, all but one of them got it at roughly the same time about 35 years ago and the other had acquired diabetes prior to that when he was living more than a thousand miles away and saw us only on holidays. At that time, I was living in the Houston area and had little physical contact with them except on holidays because of the distance.
