This time it's not about beef causing climate change or toxic masculinity. This time, beef causes type 2 diabetes. Not carbs, not sugar, but beef is linked to diabetes.

Can't make this stupidity up, but it is Harvard so not surprised.

Doesn't surprise me with processed meat. That stuff is garbage.

They can pound sand on unprocessed red meat. Granted, I don't eat any more than 2 servings a week anyway.

Very little from Harvard is legitimate these days. You have to factor in how much climate change is driving this study.

Lol. Maybe nasty processed meat. No way a diet consisting of grass fed beef leads to diabetes.

My typical lunch is a ribeye or NY Strip all by itself. Easiest diet to stick to. The left is waging a war on meat because they hate humanity and know that the proper human diet is basically a keto/carnivore diet. Everything the left pushes is unhealthy and designed to keep you sick/confused/miserable/infertile/dead.

Red meat does often have more saturated fats, does it not? I love me some beef, but we've scaled it back due to trying to eat healthier and save money.

Not turning down a good steak, though.

But what does saturated fat have to do with diabetes?

My comment was more related to red meat not being good for you and not necessarily the diabetes part.

Nothing wrong with saturated fats. That idea is outdated.

If red meat caused Type II diabetes, every carnivore would be diabetic.

Instead, they look really healthy to me.

Harvard putting out this study isn't surprising.

Now Fox News putting this article out is.

The people that are eating red meat and getting diabetes are ordering their red meat with French fries and a large coke.

True. If the red meat people are reporting about is nothing but what goes into making burgers, meat sauces for pasta, Taco Bell, and whatever kind of crap that passes as a "meal," of course, they will get diabetes.

If your red meat is a lean cut and goes into healthy foods, even Mexican ones, you're not going to have this problem, But if they dug deeper into their sample size, they wouldn't get the click-bait reaction they want.

It is kinda funny thinking these people are actually concerned for meat-eating people's health. If they would just let us die that would cut down meat consumption, no?

All of these narratives need some coordination. The left is really busy competing for the top spot, running in different directions with "solutions" or problems we must overcome for whatever reason.

Healthy people live longer but this causes the end of the planet; wind turbines save the atmosphere (lol), but kill all of the birds, and on and on. It's hard to keep up.

So many causes…so little time.

Oh, and I'm a firm believer that (in most cases), you can eat whatever and however much the hell you want if you get off your ass and move around enough. Carry on.
I don't think you know me.

I eat read meat just about every day and would be willing to bet a sizable amount of money that my blood work would come back better than those that conducted the study.

I'd be interested in looking at the actual study and not just an article about it. In that link it sounds like they just found a correlation and ran with it.

Overall I'm struggling to understand how something that contains just about no sugar can affect your body's ability to handle glucose.

This.

Although, it's tough to decipher the whiny types that don't want to accept facts because it challenges their assumed beliefs at times.

With todays availability, simply no reason to not diversify the diet. The only people that I know eating red meat more than twice a week are pigs. They are getting diabetes anyway. Lol.

It also cannot be dismissed that the health of the person is largely genetic. There are a lot of people that have little body fat, exercise daily, and eat salads nearly all the time that have high cholesterol. The article and study is fine and not anything we don't already know but it does tend to dismiss the genetic component.

You must not be doing MetRX protein shakes. Those were the rage back in the early 90s and we lived on those. Gold's Gym in College Station smelled horrible because everyone was doing MetRX.

That stuff still exist?

The ratio of fats also greatly varies between grain fed and grass fed meats. Grain fed has about 10x the amount of omega 6 fatty acids than omega 3. With grass fed, the ratio is about even.

The quality of the food itself is the most important factor when considering it.

Also, for those on a true carnivore diet, your entire body changes how it processes proteins and fats. When you aren't ingesting all the processed sugars and bad carbs, a lot of those issues people have seem to go away. On carnivore, your body burns all that fat because it needs it for energy. It is not storing the fats like those who eat all the sugars and carbs.

All I know is I lost 33 lbs in about 7 months from simply changing to a carnivore diet, and I feel great.
