Except you can impact it. The free market has literally provided alternative packaging etc etc

You're just choosing convenience over the logic of your better senses

What's worse is we're poisoning our children because we're so effing lazy

You can choose not to poison your family.

All good decisions require a little sacrifice. They always have in my life
So you use no plastic?? Really?

You can stop buying them and knowingly ingesting them. Yes.

The spoon made me fat. The evil company made me drink the water from the plastic bottle. Same argument

Buy a 2 part charcoal filter and a a reusable bottle. Then look into throwing out the Tupperware and buying glass. One step at a time

Obviously a host of factors but I am growing more convinced that micro plastics are one of the major contributors.

Cookware is a big culprit because it releases so much plastic and toxins into our food when heated. Change to glass, ceramics and cast iron. Wash new clothes before you wear them. Stop buying plastic bottles for your water. Little things do make a difference.

There are two environments. You can't immediately control the larger but you can do a lot to repair what's happening in your household.

By the way, in our house, my wife and I have lost weight, we're sleeping better and my t levels are way up naturally. I test every three months. TMI perhaps but we are doing the little things and seem to be helping.

Yes avoid as much soy as you can. It causes drops in testosterone levels dramatically.

You deserve a repost. Perfect comment.

What happens in our house is more important and has more impact on my family and their future than what happens in the White House.

The thread is about plastics but soy has to go, too. Also, beer. Beer is estrogenic. When I drink it's only spirits. Or wine.

How about the American diet as issue number 1. Fast food, highly processed food, excessive amounts of food, refined sugar, etc.

As for the lower birth rate, the delay in/absence of marriage, attitudes about having kids and generation soy boy is where I would look.

Micro plastics, just another excuse so we don't look at the real reasons.

Are you sure you understand all of the products that contain plastic? Your water filter is made of what?

You sure it's not the vast amounts of whataburger and various processed food people eat?

America is obese. That's it biggest health problem.

I ate whataburger for the first time in probably seven years because it was the only thing we could find open in Prosper at 5:00 AM on a Saturday morning.

It was hot garbage that I wished I hadn't eaten. Next time I'll just be hungry.

No one is saying that. All of these brought up are absolutely contributing factors. The more processed your food is the more it will have added that will have effects on your health. It is a matter of personal responsibility.

That's one factor. But it's not only obese and unhealthy whose testosterone rates are much lower than comparable peers in the 80's. Average rates have fallen like 35-40% since the 80's if I remember correctly. That's INSANE.

It's crazy how so many people are so adamant that it can only be one thing...lifestyle. Or ONLY microplastics etc etc.

We literally look for things to feel unhealthy about.

We are living in the safest and healthiest moment in history. Just enjoy your life and stop worrying about everything.

This really shouldn't be a left or right issue. I'm as conservative as they come but in my house, we don't use any plastics. Everything is glass and we filter all of our water. Don't do processed foods and certainly no soy products.

No, I am not a worrier or handwringer, so I don't give it any thought. You let me find a can of aerosol deodorant or Aqua Net hair spray and I point it up at the ozone layer and do my part to punch a hole in it.

They some studies say help to explain the lower testosterone levels is reduced smoking rates. I will take the lower T levels for the lower lung cancer and other serious health issues from smoking.

Never understand this mindset either. Whats the part of some conservatives crapping on anything that tries to improve the environment simply because it's typically a left wing focus point.

Yeah man. Screw the environment I'm just gonna pour my paint down the storm drain because to hell with those liberals.

We err toward ceramics where we used to use plastics. Generally avoid microwaving in plastics.

I don't see the micro plastics as my likely demise, it's easy to mitigate, so why not.

It's one thing to say you avoid plastic where you can. It's another thing to say "in my house, we don't use any plastics." I just don't believe this is feasible.

there are a lot of things influencing testosterone levels of western civilization men. do some research into bill gates, eugenics, what they put in our food- check out recent story on fast food restaurants and hormones in their food. this is a long drawn out process that started at least 60 years ago if not longer. most are just waking up to what's been going on. it's been going on with this goal in mind.

Make all the changes you want, as long as you leave other people alone with your belief system.

Correct. It was a pain to swap over but once you get all the plastics out, it's pretty easy to do. Lifestyle change.

Microplastics in our environment are a major issue. Even more so when they contain BPA and other endocrine disruptors. Not only are testosterone levels dropping but penile lengths are shrinking for babies exposed to high levels of them in utero. And, yes, microplastics have been found in placenta.

They also contribute to ADHD and who knows what other conditions.
I ate some microplastics and it was like taking viagra … strong as an ox
