The first article refers to Rantisi, not Shifa.

Supposedly the Israelis and US know about the bunker under Shifa because the Israelis actually built back it in the early 1980s when they controlled Gaza.

It would be stupid of Hamas not to use the infrastructure if it's there. Not saying that's right, just saying that it makes sense they would given their limited resources and existential need to be very resourceful in pursuit of their evil goals.

I'm sure the Israelis have old blueprints and other forms of intel to aid in their efforts.

Yes, they have entered some of the buildings that comprise Shifa. But I haven't seen any evidence they have made their way to Shifa's underground bunker/tunnel complex. Have not checked for new videos in a few hours so they very well could have by now.

The videos published earlier today at Shifa were at one of the buildings, at or above grade.

The videos published from Rantisi were at and sub grade.

The IDF will get to and eliminate Hamas in the sub grade bunker under Shifa, as they should. Just a matter of time.

I think they did say they took the main elevator shaft down yesterday. I suspect they have cleared the tunnels but aren't publishing the work/videos yet.

The reality of the Palestinian situation is rather gruesome. Look no further than history all over the world from ancient times to today. Lands and people get conquered. They either conform to their conquerors way of life or they die.

In the old testament, jews killed the inhabitants of the promised land and pacified it where they could build their kingdom. The Assarians, Persian's, Greeks, Romans, Ottomans etc, either killed, dispersed, pacified or forced the assimilation of the native inhabitants. We did it to the native Americans here and they did it to each other before we arrived. I can't think of a civilization or country off the top of my head where that wasn't the case.

It's still happens to this day in places like South Africa and China but because these countries aren't modern, western democracies it doesn't get the airtime that it does in Israel.

The world won't let Israel commit genocide. It just isn't going to happen. My opinion, Israel has to keep Gaza as a police state. They have to take over and govern under a set of rules and if the Palestinians don't conform, consequences have to be severe enough via the court system to change behaviors. They have to be involved in the education system for Palestinian children and have the ability to monitor religious meetings where resistance and revolt start from. If they religious leaders won't conform, they have to be jailed or eliminated. They have to find a way to slow down the birth rate of the Palestinians.

They also have to provide a way forward if they aren't going to kill enough of the population to pacify them. They have to educate, provide jobs/industry and something to occupy the time of the Palestinians so they have other avenues than terrorism.

There is an easy answer but the modern/Western world will not accept it, so the Israelis must play the long game and reprogram the Palestinians and have the backbone and support of its Western partners to see it through.

The Israel Defense Forces says it has recovered the body of Yehudit Weiss, 65, who was abducted by Hamas on October 7, from a building near Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip.

Troops of the 7th Armored Brigade's 603rd Battalion found the body, along with Hamas military equipment, including assault rifles and RPGs.

The body was brought into Israel for identification, following which the military and police notified Weiss's family of her death.The IDF does not provide further details on Weiss's cause of death, or when she was killed.

Weiss, a mother of five, was abducted from Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7. Her husband, Shmulik Weiss, was found murdered in the safe room of their home.

Yehudit, a pensioner who worked with kindergarten kids and in the kibbutz dining room, was being treated with radiation for breast cancer when she was kidnapped.

"The IDF sends its heartfelt condolences to the family," it says in a statement. "The national mission… is to locate the missing and return the hostages home."

"The IDF is operating alongside and in full coordination with the relevant national and security institutions in order to pursue these tasks. We will not cease from the mission until it will be completed," the IDF adds.
