Unfortunately one of the Namer Armored Personnel Carriers was destroyed by an ATGM 4 days ago which killed all 11 in the vehicle.

We have a pretty good idea of what happened but I don't want to state that now.

This popped up in my YouTube feed this morning. That's a lot of confirmed hits in that video. I'm assuming the battle has been a little tougher than what we've seen or heard about?

Edit: I don't mean that as a bad thing either (that we haven't seen a lot of footage like this). I mean it as it's not just tanks taking out buildings and bombs being dropped from 5,000ft. There's obviously some urban warfare going on. Good, let all the rats come out and be squashed one by one.

I totally agree! Still crazy how out in the open some of those ****ers are when they fire and stand there to watch the hit. For instance the one APC with the coaxial machine gun on top and they're just standing there looking at the SOB.

Edit: or whatever you call the machine gun mount that is remote operated inside the tank. I could see it moving.

Look closely man, I see a lot of crud editing and even video reversal. Only saw only 1 hit that that might have had believable secondaries. Most of this is BS.

Just because a tank has been hit with an RPG-7 or other man portable anti-armour means it killed it.

The Merkavas are pretty heavily armored and use composite armor in many places that is good against HEAT infantry antitank rockets. Even if they hit, they might not penetrate, and even if they penetrate, they might do limited damage. They're not cooking off like Russian T-tanks would.

Only one video showed the aftermath of a hit and there was a small fire on back of a tank that didn't look to be catastrophic. Most were shots and them running off, whether they did major damage or not is anyone's guess.

Either way I wouldn't want to be sitting in a tank in an urban battle

I've read a lot of really sad/infuriating stuff this am on this war, though a bit busy. I'll just note that though I generally dislike 'war-porn' it is also infuriating that the UNRWA is such a clearly complicit partner with Hamas:

They knew that tunnel, and others at the hospitals they run (all 20 in the Gaza Strip), were used widely by Hamas and their leadership/employees never said anything. Pathetic, enemy of the people (whether gazans or Israel/others like the UN is supposed to represent).

And I don't know what this 'no re-occupation' thing is 'after the conflict.'

I saw that video and originally thought the same thing. But Preston Stewart said something on his YouTube channel and it made sense to me. Remember that Israel uses the Trophy system on their armor. The Trophy system engages incoming rounds detonating them before they hit the vehicle.

Yes, many of these videos show an explosion, but it's hard to tell if it's causing damage to the vehicle. Especially since ham@ss isn't releasing any footage post attack.

Edit: I'm not saying they won't take losses, they will, but I think most of these videos aren't showing losses necessarily.
