Just from the google maps overhead there are a lot of solar panels on some of the buildings. Some may be able to stay on battery power overnight.

they are showing video on the news of two Israeli soldiers who happened to be in one of the homes of the Kibbutz -

and killing Hamas terrorists as they were trying to break down the door

so at least some of the homes were able to fight back.

25 Year Old Woman leads defense of Kibbutz Against Hamas Terrorists

It's actually Inbal Liberman who is the woman who set up the defense and the ambushes of Hamas which saved the community.

It's a bit surreal seeing large explosions in dark Gaza then seeing that same strike from a well lit Ashkelon, Israel looking south into Gaza

Starlink? Mobile hotspots?
