Israel sending all the bunker busters following each other might just be practice to get to Irans underground nuclear facilities.

I would not be surprised if it turned out to be true but the source is less than credible. He is a whack job even by Iranian standards.

It's also common over there to blame outside forces for their own failures. No one wants to admit the Iranian Republican Guard or anyone involved in leadership are sometimes just dimwitted failures.

Israel wipes out Gaza - most of the ME says "who cares - they had it coming".

Israel invades southern Lebanon going after Hez - most of the ME is a little more concerned, but not really.

If Iran attacks Israel and they retaliate, I can still see Egypt and Jordan saying "dude Iran started it." Those are the two countries to watch the closest. A ground war with Israel can't happen without them being on board.

Iran is doing the same thing they did before. Making sure everybody knows what they are about to do and has time to get their defenses ready. The worst thing Iran could do for themselves right now is to successfully attack Israel. With the mood Israel is in, successfully hitting Tel Aviv with a ballistic missile from Iran might be the beginning of the end of the Ayatollahs' reign in Iran.

Iran wants to do what they did before, launch a bunch of missiles and drones and let everybody in the ME shoot them down, then tell their citizens it was the Great Satan that stopped their attack from being successful. Israel has made an example of the Houthis by destroying their port infrastructure and fuel storage. Iran would quickly be back to the Stone Age without their petroleum export facilities and they can't have missed the message being sent via Yemen ("people who launch ballistic missiles at Israel lose their ports").

Key word being "if". Agree that they have enough regard for their own lives that they won't intentionally trigger Israel into ending them, but I'm not sure that "rational" is the best descriptor...
