That's kinda my point- the tanks reactive armor makes firing the weapon at it less likely to be successful than running up to it and physical placing the round on the tank is. The only effective counter measure to that would be infantry or some other covering support.

But, if this is what hamas is reduced to trying, is it really a big enough threat to expose your infantry to hamas attacks?

There's multiple reports of a incoming truce, including from the US govt.

It'll be interesting to see what the terms are. I know bibi is getting tons of pressure internally to do more to get the hostages back. I'd imagine any truce would need most or all the hostages released, but the report I saw only mentioned 50.

Regardless, Isreal cannot stop this war until hamas is totally wiped out. They spent too much political capital getting this far and must not stop lest hamas grow even stronger with a renewed backing from international sources, and way more from western countries.

The Islamic State once had a nice publication explaining 'why we hate you.' I think more should read it. This is the fuel as well from Hamas/Palestinian Authority/Iran etc.





We really need to cancel all arms/airliner sales to Qatar and end our relationship with them after this.

Something about this potential "armistice" seems fishy. Hamas hasn't seemed to have cared much about its women and children, and now they are ready to cease fire just to get back some women and children? Must be other things being discussed.

Bibi is getting a lot of pressure about not doing enough to save some of the hostages. I'm sure he feels this "pause" will give Israel some relief from the large amount of pressure being applied by its allies, world orgs and citizens.

However, I think this will only lead to more pressure being applied to stop the fighting altogether.

However, maybe Israel anticipated this, incorporated it into their strategy and feels its at the time where a pause could prove beneficial to them.

Idk, I just think western media and political sources will ramp up the criticism with a pause.

The Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah reportedly caused "heavy damage" to an Israeli military base on Monday after it launched a rocket and drone attack at the army base.

The Times of Israel reported that Hezbollah's attacks were launched from "Lebanon at the northern communities of Arab al-Aramshe and Bar'am, as well as the Biranit army base."

No casualties were reported from the strikes but there was heavy damage and a fire that was started from the rocket barrage, the report said.

Hezbollah launched a separate attack later in the day, firing approximately two dozen rockets and three suicide drones, presumably from Iran, at various locations along the Israeli border.

This is stupid. Don't reward hostage taking, unless you want more of it in the future. Consider those hostages all dead.

Edit: I heard of a case where a mafia associate had his kid kidnapped. The mafia instructed the family to not call the police and to never give any ransom. When the police caught wind of the kidnapping and went to the family, they told him "we don't have a son". The kid was unfortunately killed, but when the mafia caught up with the cuplrits, they made him/them pay in the most painful way they could imagine. Sure enough, no more mafia members have had their kids kidnapped.

This is actually a plus for Israel.

If they're in Israeli prisons, they can't kill them - THAT would be something that NO COUNTRY would accept from Israel, not even the US.

HowEVER...if they release them into GAZA...and then turn them to red mist. Hey! That's war.

Israel took decades to find those responsbile for the holocaust and same for the ones responsible for the olympic massacre. With technology they are going after specific soldiers that they know that killed Israelis. Not a group I would want to mess with.

I have yet to see any corroboration regarding the cease-fire/pause. All I can find is there are ongoing discussions. I suspect we are still a long ways from anything of the sort - Israel just wants to give the appearance of being willing to consider it while they take out more terrorists. Smart on their part - it at least takes some degree of pressure off them internaitonally.

If this hostage release materializes, I'm seeing if any are strong enough to give the details on the horrors they have endured to show to the ignorant masses and then Israel ramps up again, vaporizes the remaining buildings, infrastructure, and anyone associated with or providing support to hamas.
