We were at the park for mickeys Christmas party last year and Santa at the Christmas parade amd the meet and greet was black, so now that makes sense.

Did not read the thread? The responses were not inform agreement at all.
This is an odd thread where some people are upset that Tim Allen isn't playing Santa Claus in a Santa Claus movie that isn't part of Allen's Santa series. However, once people got over the frothing, read the article, and realized the error, their ire was redirected towards Santa being black.

That I could see. It evolved into more of an eye rolling that EVERY new production HAS to go out it's way to virtue signal regarding the racial composition of the casting. It's like pandering. Although, it can always be argued that maybe that's the casting that works best for this particular movie. We'll see when it comes out.

And what's the issue here? This isn't "The Santa Clause 4." It's a totally different movie, seemingly unrelated to the three previous "The Santa Clause" movies.
For starters, Santa isn't ****ing black. Just like the ancient Celts weren't black, just like the freaking Vikings weren't black. Just like Snow mother****ing White wasn't Mexican.
Well, for starters, Santa and Snow White don't really exist, so they can be whatever color you can dream up.

I mean....it's Danny Glover. An old black dude who was in some pretty damn good movies during his career, so it's not like he's a "DEI hire". We already had Billy Bob Thornton play a drunken ******* Santa, and David Harbour play an asskicking one. I don't see why thus is a big deal at all.

I mean... it's Disney, so be glad maybe that it's not some cross dressing guy trying to be Mrs. Claus?

And Jesus wasn't white. But that hasn't stopped white people from depicting white Jesus for the last 2000 years.

Danny Glover the black actor? Pretty sure when the story of Santa Claus started in Turkey, they didn't have a lot of black guys running around there.

Bit ironic that Danny glover was "too old for this s**t" in Lethal Weapon 4 25 freaking years ago.
Danny Glover is a straight up communist. was a decade or so ago. Piss on him and ANY movie he is in.

Not a theater movie, not even a genuine Disney+ movie. I don't think Disney could even afford Tim Allen to make this thing.

So it's like the worst parts of all The Santa Clause sequels and the post-Macaulay Culkin Home Alone sequels, with a dash of Spykids, Ocean's 11, and a touch of Lethal Weapon.

I'll pass.

But I second the idea of a Samuel L. Jackson Santa movie along the lines of Fatman, Silent Night, Pulp Fiction, and The Equalizer. "Ho Ho Ho, motha f-er!! Do you speak it!!!"

Well most white Europeans who painted those pictures or made those sculptures or stained glass windows between 1500 and 500 years ago had never seen anyone other than white people, and the Bible doesn't go into detail about it, so their mistake is understandable.

The amount of AI generated articles is insane. I'm sure some are even generated constantly to match instant search engine results.

I like Danny Glover as an actor but..."He is based on St. Nicholas of Myra, who, according to Christian tradition, was a bishop in that small Roman town during the 4th century. Nicholas's reputation for generosity and kindness gave rise to legends of miracles he performed for the poor and unhappy" doesn't sound like a black man.

He's literally Santa clause in a series on Disney plus that is part of the same franchise.

Can we all take a step back and realize people on this board are getting worked into a tizzy over an intentionally misleading thread title about an 80s action star playing an imaginary fat guy who uses reindeer as transportation to sneak into people's houses. Like, how good are our lives that this is the kind of thing that moves the needle at all?

And just to clear things up from what the OP was insinuating...fear not, Tim Allen will return as Santa. The Santa Clauses season 2 is coming:

The first season was extremely cheesy, but I'm a huge Tim Allen fan and loved the original film so I enjoyed it for what it was.

Santa also isn't a white Caucasian, he was a Turkish priest of Greek descent, he likely would have had olive tone skin, not pale white as shown in American media

Perfect example of faux outrage meant to divide. It's a stand alone movie. Who cares. It sounds similiar to some of these movies that have been done on netflix. A big fat who gives a *****

that doesn't sound like an Anglo Caucasian either. In fact if you knew history you would know that Romans hated goths, germanics and the British savages.

Santa's a horned monster whose elves are old men that torture kids in this Norwegian horror flick:

It's actually a rich sub-genre (Santa horror flicks, mostly bad, but some pretty fun).
