This is a rich statement. The ones that are grifting in the pro-life movement tend make garbage excuses for people that think heartbeat bills are a mistake.

If you ever thought that Trump was a staunch advocate for anything or anyone other than himself has not been paying attention, or at the very least willfully ignorant.

My goodness...it's like he's a plant sent to completely fracture/divide/destroy the party for good. What a f-ing buffoon. He's all over the place.

Can't believe this is the guy I couldn't wait to pull the lever for just a few years ago.

I'll still vote for him in the general, but only because I would honest to God vote for a bucket of feces over ANY living democrat today.

You mean when he insinuated that the pro-life lobby is raising money as some sort of business? That is called "grifting". Nice try at goaltending.

Typical DeSantis supporter lying about Trump due to TDS.
Nowhere did he call them grifters. Even in the out of context quote in the tweet.

Edit. Sorry. Not from a DeSantis supporter. From his war room.

Trump Republicans - all of Texas legislators that allow Dems on committees, work across aisle, or don't vote exactly as we say are RINOS

Also Trump Republicans - it's ok if Trump negotiates at the federal level after the SOTUS gave conservatives the biggest win / states rights win of the last half century.

This is what happens when you dare to question the Don. He's getting flack because he is attacking DeSantis from the left on abortion and he is willing to use it as a bargaining chip for federal legislation, so now pro-lifers are grifters. You are okay in his book as long as you are loyal to him. That is it. He can use you, but disagree with him and now you are the problem.

He's not wrong. The people that have campaigned and fund raised for years as pro-life while not doing a damn thing about it are 100% grifters. That said, that doesn't make what Trump has been saying recently on the topic correct.

However, this is all overblown. Regardless of who is president, a total ban nor a 6-week ban is coming across their desk. Trump saying he will negotiate to set federal limits that are "reasonable" maximums may be the best opportunity we have to prevent infanticide in the blue states. And I'm skeptical of even that happening.

If you want to ban abortion at the federal level, it's going to have to be through a personhood amendment or reinterpretation of the 14th amendment. Too much evil pond scum to get a bill through Congress.

Then leave it at the state level as the SCOTUS did.

He said, "Maybe they make it into some kind of business, I don't know" and then Raheem the scumbag says "It's a lot of money!"

He didn't say "grift" but that's exactly what he is talking about when he says they are raising money without an intention of doing anything.

It's not within Federal purview. It's a state's right issue, as it should be.

SCotUS fixed a mistake. Now, they need to undo things like the ADA, DebacleCare, basstardization of the Commerce clause, and so on.

People are free to move from cities, counties, and states that don't reflect their values... why force a national referendum after the SCOTUS rightly gave that power to the states - a move that EVERY conservative on this board applauded then.

Nothing has changed with their decision being correct.

Trump says "I don't know"
DeSantis lies "Trump said grifters"
He was talking about how they raise money and "I don't know" what they are doing with it, that's grifting by definition.

In the meantime he's trying to get us to accept a starting negotiating position of 4 months (well into the 2nd Trimester) PLUS exceptions. That's a STARTING position. He also destroyed the core of the Pro Life argument by calling an abortion ban at 6 weeks "terrible" and thus not taking the moral high ground of protecting life and the baby.

Since Trump can't admit a mistake though he has to find a way to justify it and argue his position is the right one. The only way to do that is to fight against his own Party instead of the Dems. Of course you think that's just brilliant.

Not hard to post actual quotes made. Now spinning I don't know into grifting would outright break me. I'm not nearly that flexible.

Lol, nowhere in that tweet was he asked what they are doing with the money. Pro life has been fighting and what Trump did have them negotiating power.

The SCOTUS gave the power to the states.... there's no more negotiation needed.
