They are correct. The prosecution rate for knowingly lying on a 4473 is less than 0.1% of the time. That is for obvious lies where they fail the background check. The rate is much lower if you count the people actively abusing drugs and lying about it on the form.

We don't enforce the laws we have in regards to firearms, criminals plea them away, DAs don't prosecute them, 8th graders share TikToks of them with "switches" (12 years 250k felony for machine gun) with zero consequences, but we NEED MOAR LAWS! THINK OF THE CHILDREN! THE COMMON SENSE!!!!!

There is also a lot of conflating the issue and people talking about the constitutionality of it etc (of course in similar attempts to paint Rs as hypocrites). But that misses the point. If hunter had told the truth about the drug use and then been denied a gun, then we could be talking about the constitutionality of the issue and laws related to gun ownership. But instead he lied. And that's the issue. Dems won't focus on that. Nor the multitude of "process" crimes that the dems (being the fbi and doj etc) have used to prosecute Rs and any person in Trump's orbit.

You lie on the application, you are breaking the law.

ATF gets thousands of applications every year where they have proof that people lied on the application, thus committing a felony.

Every year, ones of people get arrested for those lies.


Hunter Biden should be prosecuted. But so should all the other liars.

I understand and agree with what you're saying, but they're constantly calling for more gun laws to make it harder for people to buy guns. One of the current laws is enforced after being violated, and they're crying about it because of who it is. If it was some rando, they'd be cheering.

FWIW, I was just on a very popular gun forum and the overwhelming consensus is that he was charged with an unconstitutional law that should and will likely be overturned by Bruen. I agree with them, even though I think he and his scum bag father should rot in prison for their other crimes. Unlike liberals, conservatives are not always hypocrites.
