sorry, I'm not keeping up with this story, and no longer living in Tx.

This prosecution sounded fishy from the start...apparently now it involves the Swamp (i.e. the Bushes), and the FBI.

Was/Is Paxton in the planning stages of adopting the Left's playbook of malicious prosecution against Dems? i.e. the same way state and local attorneys are fabricating charges against Trump and his supporters with the purpose of ruining them?

I'm going to assume 'yes', and his prosecution is an attempt to stop him before he gets started.

I'll know I'm right if a reslib or CM comes here and calls me a conspiracy theorist.
No. Paxton was using our (the citizens') Office of the Attorney General to harm his crony's (Nate Paul) business competitors and banks.
There are countless crimes committed by politicians...They aren't prosecuted unless they are republicans who are hated by the msm/Left, or they pose some kind of risk to the Swamp. That's just the way it works since the mid 20-teens.

Why would the Feds/Swamp single out the Atty Gen of the Red-est state? it's got to be something underhanded. Could this be about this abortion politics?

Truth: Any misfortune befalling a Republican is the result of a dirty trick until proven otherwise.

sorry, this is the default position ever since the Russia collusion hoax.

Always, and I mean ALWAYS read any article from the Dallas Express with a skeptical eye. They have shown to be more National Enquirer than legit news source. Not saying this isn't accurate, but just a word of caution.

Looks like the competitors decimated Mate Paul and are currently pounding Paxton.

Not sure which side I fall on re guilt v innocence on Paxton. But if one side has Johnny Sutton, then I'm for the other team. What that dude did to Ramos & Compeon was hot garbage.

When their senior writer has this on Linkdin "I currently work as a staff writer for the Dallas Express, a news publication striving to report accurate and relevant stories to the community".

But then the articles use terms like: "allegedly", "potentially", "suggested", "advanced the theory", "apparently".

Again, this may all be accurate and there may be fire where they claim smoke.

But I've learned to be skeptical about anything from this newspaper owned by Monty Bennett.

Precisely. Have the FBI interview the staff...give them the KT MacFarland treatment...and voila! you'll have all the compliant witnesses you need to get the bad guy.

...post-constitutional logic created by the Feds.

So, some of the same terms the NY Times used/uses?

Both sides are tossing propaganda out to prove a point. I have yet to see The DMN or The Statesman blame an organization for Paxton's problems, though. They just blame Paxton. Texas Scorecard and these guys, on the other hand, blame the Bush Family. It all just seems contrived and odd.

Wow, I suspected something was up involving the establishment Bush wing of the republican party and the Paxton but it seems my instincts could be correct. Watching the impeachment thing for the past week, the case against Paxton seems to be based on "he didn't do what we wanted and we didn't like it." Appears to be a politically driven witch hunt.

Did you truthfully watch the hearings? Aggie code of honor? Because that's not near the impression I have from watching them.
No, I didn't watch it all day on every day but the times I watched it seemed pretty weak or almost juvenile.
I know nothing!

I think both can be true at the same time - that Paxton is corrupt and that he is facing a conspiracy of opponents who want him impeached.

However, the whistleblowers are not who I'd call RINOs. They are Federalist Society members and hard right Trump supporters.

You get that I believe when you watch the entire trial, which is arduous but very entertaining at times, especially with Buzbee '90 is doing the cross examinations.

Whats maddening is how the House voted by such an overwhelming majority to impeach. From what I have seen, I just don't see how you can have such a lopsided vote. To me, the whole thing seems weak and politically motivated.

I believe they were trusting that there was actual evidence because that's what the Phelanites have been promising. That it wasn't a political attack and that the committee heard overwhelming evidence that compelled them to do this.

Of course the dems don't care. They would always vote to impeach a republican. But the impeachment has proven that there is apparently no evidence. The "whistleblowers" reported Paxton to anyone who would listen for things they thought might have happened. Like Russian collusion.

This is disgusting. (and I don't even care about Paxton)

Very disturbing. I voted for Bush father and son whole heartedly knowing full well they probably had some shady dealings considering their businesses. If what is alleged here is true they are seditious.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
