Someone is pulling a "weekend with Bernie" in the Senate (and Whitehouse).

If she cannot control herself, she cannot vote in the Senate.

* On another topic, did she marry herself, her daughter looks just like her and has the same Lucy haircut!

Daughter is the poster child for what leftist women look like.

I think it's ridiculous she hasn't put in her paperwork and hung it up. Don't get me wrong.

But personally having dealt with a parents estate planning at a young age. This move is seriously just being prudent and on top of your ***** I get how it could look like "it's being spun… etc" but this is normal course of biz.

Your post doesn't make complete sense to me but if she can't handle her personal affairs, she has no business being a Senator.

I agree she needs to call its quits and its ridiculous she hasn't resigned yet. (My first point in my post).

My overall point below the first part is saying that regardless of her senator status, it is not outside of the norm for her to appoint power of attorney given her husband passed away last year, her current age, and recent health issues. Its the prudent move in family/estate planning in her current situation.

How does that not complete sense? I also mentioned that I had personal experience having to deal with an estate planning situation in my family when I was in my 20s.

A poster above me said "It's being spun as control over her deceased husband's estate."

.... merely saying this is a headline to grab attention to something that is normal course of business and is not "being spun" to any political narrative. Any reasonable person regardless of status would do the same.

We are good at making a political narrative about any headline without reading into any context on here.

Finestein resigning would be better for the democrats, having her there and being told how to vote by an aide looks bad. Either way that spot is a Democrat vote on everything,
It's not a case like Ginsburg, clinging on to her Supreme Court seat until the very end else getting replaced by a conservative justice. There is zero doubt she would replaced by another Democrat, whether elected or appointed.

Based on that picture they plan to put the daughter in her seat. Unless the daughter has the same 1950s fashion sense, why else would she intentionally look so frumpy like her mother.

Feinstine of sound mind would occasionally on certain issues go against the liberal grain. As long as the keep her upright'ish she's a guaranteed vote today for whatever crazy thing the liberals can trot out.

Is that a picture of her daughter on the left, or is that a photo of the senator taken during the Great War?

That's her "son"

Term limits plus set "retirement" age for public office to 70.

If she was competent, she could handle her personal affairs with the help of her attorneys. She's obviously not competent therefore she should not be a Senator. The headline isn't sensational. She isn't just any person. She's a Senator on very important committees.

Your first post wasn't clearly written. Thanks for clarifying.

That's the beauty of gerrymandering districts. It is never a matter of which party, only which person most fits the current type the constituents want at that moment.
So the lines of her senate district have been gerrymandered?

Maybe not hers because it's California, and she's a senator, but who knows if her district was tailored to make it harder for a republican to win.

What district?

So she'll be the next senator? That's a dude, dude!

Well she's dead. It's silly that we don't have age limits. So power hungry she died in office. It's just sad

I am sure she (well, her heirs) have been WELL compensated for keeping the charade going for as long as possible.

People have to understand how the Democratic party sees people. People are tools to use, pawns to manipulate with the weaker ones simply enslaved to do their work and bidding. Whether its slavery to fighting against the civil rights act to criminal reform to lock up minorities to their policies on abortion, Dems do NOT care about people.

They care about their power, wealth and social status amongst their coastal elitist progressive peers.

Feinstein is just another example of being used at the service of her handlers.

But she chose to make that deal with the devil. She now gets the chance to thank him for the bountiful benefits he bestowed on her for doing his bidding on Earth.

You have to forgive those who lean left as they do not recognize that a dead person can no longer carry out legal activities like voting and such.

Example 980,765,567,314 of why age limits and term limits are needed.

Constituents paying attention would work also. Our founding fathers built this for us to control and we are failing miserably.
What the founding fathers built has been changed to such a degree it only marginally resembles the original design.

That is a huge component of the problem.

Aren't there specific powers of attorney for matters vs a general power of attorney over everything?

I still find amazing while serving on the senate intelligence committee she had a personal chauffeur that was eventually discovered as a Chinese spy (after 15 years). What's amazing is how they kept the story limited to its basically no big deal.
Just to add:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein leaves intelligence committee, shaking up future of encryption law
  • Feinstein was one of the loudest and most controversial voices in U.S. government on the issue of encryption. Despite being a Californian, she often found herself at odds with the state's massive tech hubs on this issue. Alongside Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., the Intelligence Committee's ranking Republican, Feinstein pushed a bill meant to "pierce" through encryption.
The government, especially the Federal government, should never have the keys to break encrypted communications. This power ultimately would be abused against political rivals.

Get a damn subpoena and institute surveillance. The abuse of this power would be another nail in the coffin of our country as we know it.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
