I think it's ridiculous she hasn't put in her paperwork and hung it up. Don't get me wrong.
But personally having dealt with a parents estate planning at a young age. This move is seriously just being prudent and on top of your ***** I get how it could look like "it's being spun… etc" but this is normal course of biz.
Your post doesn't make complete sense to me but if she can't handle her personal affairs, she has no business being a Senator.
I agree she needs to call its quits and its ridiculous she hasn't resigned yet. (My first point in my post).
My overall point below the first part is saying that regardless of her senator status, it is not outside of the norm for her to appoint power of attorney given her husband passed away last year, her current age, and recent health issues. Its the prudent move in family/estate planning in her current situation.
How does that not complete sense? I also mentioned that I had personal experience having to deal with an estate planning situation in my family when I was in my 20s.
A poster above me said "It's being spun as control over her deceased husband's estate."
.... merely saying this is a headline to grab attention to something that is normal course of business and is not "being spun" to any political narrative. Any reasonable person regardless of status would do the same.
We are good at making a political narrative about any headline without reading into any context on here.
