I'm friends with a guy about 15 years younger than me. He got married young when he knocked his girlfriend up. Marriage lasted about two years. He then went through this 2-3 year period where he was nailing strange weekly. Swipe right, swipe left type of stuff. He had a good time until he burnt out on it then met a nice gal, dated her for a couple of years, and now is remarried.

He called all of his online hookups his "ho's". Meet online, pay for dinner and some drinks, bang. How is that not prostitution? Legal prostitution. LMAO.

I have talked to a few young ladies in Costa Rica during my time there. They have all held full time jobs during the week and travel to the Cocal on weekends to supplement their income and support the family. It s legal there, but not as prevalent as you would think. It is basically limited to a few areas in the country.

I am not saying that it should be legal here. It's hard to explain, but I think due to the family unit and Catholic nature there that it regulates itself.

It's common in all of latin America. So I hear anyway.

Have had a lot of friends over the years that went on annual "fishing" or "hunting" trips to Costa, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Belize, etc. First stop, liquor store. Second stop, pick out your chica.

Hey baby, was thinking about flying down to BA to go on a dove hunt with the guys

No...

I can go down to La Zona and just outright hand over cash for sex.

Or, I can go on a date and pay for drinks and dinner for sex.
User name checks out.

What exactly would that help? It would make human trafficking even more widespread. Only men who use prostitutes and pimps would be better off.

Actually you're 100% wrong in everything you just posted. Women are more likely to be trafficked and it try to leave their traffickers becuase they're under the threat of going to jail for being a prostitute.

Prostitutes themselves would be way safer. They could work in a licensed establishment with safety protocols.

What do you think probably happens right now when a prostitute gets roughed up? Do you think she reports the John? Do you think she's rolls into the police station and says I got beat up while working my job as a hooker? Of course not, she just ices her face and goes on to the next "job".

Your points are mostly valid but I have a very hard time believing, in this day and age, that any prostitute reporting abuse would find themselves in any sort of legal troubles for doing so.

Now, whether they get that or not is a completely different story.

I agree with you, but you're not talking about the smartest women and they're probably not going to realize that. And they probably don't trusts the police anyways, hell, I don't trust the police so why would they.

No.
It's hilarious that a woman and a man can have sex on camera and both be paid by a 3rd party and then broadcast it on the internet where minors can access viewing it and it's legal. However, have a man pay a woman directly for the same act in a private setting and it's illegal. Clown world morality police.

Also just maybe if prostitution was legal and not black market some of the more sinister side of it like human trafficking would subside?

Interesting blend of legality.

Doing a little research.

they paint the entire United States with legal and illegal because of 10 of the 17 counties in Nevada have made it legal. Pretty misleading. Mexico has 18/32 states with red light districts and they are painted as limited legality. England says that it's legal to pay for sex acts but not to solicit for the acts. Seems like they could've put the US in the limited legality since we are the only country in legal/illegal.

It's also weird that some of the countries aren't filled in. I guess they don't know what prostitution is?

Prostitution should be legal.

What is the difference, other than a few hours, between finding a guy on a dating site, having dinner he pays for, and having sex after and a guy finding a chick willing to have sex for money?

Make porn illegal too. And the human trafficking would not subside. Just like illegal drugs don't subside when you legalize them and regulate it.

We'll, that's a completely voluntary act on the part of the female, choosing to go on the "date". Prostitution often involves the trafficking of or coercion of the female (or male) to become prostitutes in the first place. I'm sure that some people enter into that profession voluntarily, but I'm guessing that most of them don't.

On a county by county basis the entire country looks pretty much exactly like that. The difference between Texas and New York is that there are enough sane people outside of the deep blue city to offset the insane ones IN that city. Texas is probably 80/20 outside of the handful of counties surround Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. I'm guessing NY is more like 65/35 red when you get away from NYC.
A fearful society is a compliant society. That's why Democrats and criminals prefer their victims to be unarmed. Gun Control is not about guns, it's about control.

Let's assume it is. You're obviously oversimplifying the problem. You then have an illegal immigrant employee problem, in addition to the likely push to get kids involved as the pimp of madaam tries to provide a variety of offerings for a growing customer base.

Many people are willing to murder for hire too. Many people choose euthanasia. Many people choose to do heroin. Many people choose to be homeless bums. Many people choose speed with reckless abandon. Many people choose to drink and drive. Do/should we allow those?

Sometimes things are just ****ing wrong. Libertarians and liberals are a joke when it comes to morality. Consent doesn't mean right. We don't live in a bubble and you're not an atomized individual. Your actions impact society writ large whether you like it or not. Society has a right to say "no, you can't do that. It's bad for you and it's bad for society."

This type of liberalism is why we are a relativist cesspool. It neuters conservatism to the point that there is nothing to conserve. Consent is not God, and you don't have the right to do whatever you want. Grow up.

There are studies showing how a large amount of women have their situations exploited into selling themselves or are flat out trafficked. If prostitution was truly just women choosing a profession they thought they would enjoy/prosper with, fine. But a woman selling her body to "pay the rent" is indicative of societal rot. That should never have to happen and that woman is extremely likely to be taken advantage of
