Honestly, I don't care. Reading the descriptions of those non-profits, they're all trying to do the work in black communities that conservatives constantly complain about not being done in black communities. Things like promoting reading, family, and skills training. I see zero talk anything remotely DEI.

It's their money. They can do what they want with it, and these are the kinds of things I would like to see supported anyway. I give 0 ****s who they vote for.

Agree 100%. Condescendingly patting black people on the head while saying "I'm so sorry about slavery and that the system is stacked against you and that it's impossible for you to ever amount to anything" is racist AF and destroys the black community's collective agency and pride. On the other hand, supporting successful black entrepreneurs in their quest to teach other black men and women that they CAN make something of themselves if they put in the effort (while giving them opportunities to do so) is positive and empowering.

Pretty weird for anybody to have a problem with this. This is the way past our country's obsession with race.

Weird how when I was growing up, black kids had a better opportunity than me to go to college because of affirmative action and scholarships geared specifically to them. Hell, pop culture was dominated by them and it was cool to be them.

That was 40 years ago. It's all I've ever known in my life. You have kids now where this "balancing of the scales" is all they have ever known, it's also all their fathers and mothers have ever known.

Why do we still need to keep acting like this is fresh and "a needed 1st step in the right direction"? How is this corporate racism still justified?
