I could really care less if most actors quit making movies and STFU for good. I have a few favorites but 99.99% of movies made lately are woke, blackwashed crap. For instance, when I finish suffering through the last episodes of season 3 just to watch Henry Cavill as the Witcher, I'm probably canceling Netflix. Can't take their BS any more. /rant

so use a non-union writer... actors refuse to work on project, same with directors, teamsters refuse to work in the background, etc.

the unions effectively prevent projects from moving forward.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity for our "betters" to show us desplorables how society should work. They should pool all their money and distribute it evenly among all union members. It is not fair that Michael Moore makes so much and Joe Schmuck writer can barely scrape by. Surely Jane Fonda should want to support Tifann with an I Johnson as she works as a waitress waiting for her big break.

They can all be replaced by AI, maybe they'll come up with a movie thats not a remake, a sequel, or a superhero movie

But in this case, I can't believe the studios were offering what they did, lol. They had to have known nobody would agree to that. It wasn't even a good faith offering.

(1) Why do you get to decide whether they were negotiating in good faith? (2) Why does it matter whether they are negotiating in good faith? That they are having to negotiate with a union is of course going to change the strategy, as they are laying down precedent for the next decade (if not longer) so that union members will understand the level of commitment they need to have "the next time." Nothing wrong with that in my view.

My objection is that we have all these antitrust laws and rules, but we give unions exceptions to those laws. Be consistent. Stop picking winners and losers. How are unions not a combination or conspiracy in restraint of trade?

Now that I've thought about this a little more, I wonder if the whole AI thing is a bit of a red herring. Obviously, an A-list star would refuse to do this out of hand. If a studio wants them to star in their movie, they will not press the point. At the same time, why would they want to take the time and expense to do an AI-scan of some no-name actor? Maybe on the off chance they become famous later?
