Of course they are

Why would you hire someone who outright tells you they're going to spend more time in HR and legal causing problems for you than actually working?

What? So you're telling me that people don't want insanity and leftism in their companies?

You mean employers are more likely to avoid people who think the world revolves so much around them that they can change everyone elses language? Shocked, I tell you.

I didn't "overlook" anything. The resume told me what I needed to know.

Might as well hold a job fair at the local asylum if you hire out that on your resume.

Sort of related...I read an article yesterday that talking about sex and your weekend sexcapades is becoming more normalized in the work place by Gen Z.

Thank god I left corporate.

Any resume with ANY pronouns listed is immediate garbage can.

Without pronouns, I'm sure academia would toss it straight in the trash.

Listened to radio discussing this during lunch.

Shabby report. Only submitted "they/them" on the resume, no "he/him" or "she/her" as a control.

Also, only 8% lower call back rate than the so-called normal resumes.

Stupid is as stupid does. Libs work really hard at being stupid (and have perfected the art).

Using pronouns should rate the same as colored hair. You know they are left, and likely stir fried crazy. Individuals that are gung-ho self identifiers are the worst.

Stay far away.

I'm equally positive it's a common trend when sales folks get on Zoom meetings and have their pronouns displayed on their profiles.

No one reacts to them - but it would be very interesting to compare sales rates and hire rates between folks with and without pronouns listed.

If a person can't figure out if they are singular or multiple, you shouldn't waste your time looking over they/them/their resume.

Off to "File 13" those resumes go... all-net, swish!

Back when I had my business in SF, that was how I handled all Berkeley grad resumes. I'm sure the overlap is 100% with this pronoun crap, but it really helps weed out applicants. I'd rather be understaffed for awhile than have those beasts involved with my business in any fashion. I don't care how "qualified" you are, you're too big a risk and not worth it.

Scott Adam's had a good take.

paraphrasing: When you put pronouns on your resume, you're saying to the employer "Here's what you can do for me."

Huge risk of lawsuit costs and escalated healthcare expense to hire someone who is mentally ill, to say nothing of decreased team productivity/cohesiveness/required sensitivity training etc.

Why would a company want to hire someone that's mentally ill

Resumes with any pronouns should be overlooked. Its horrible form. So are ones with photos of the person or any crazy colors other than black and white.

I have not witnessed this at all, and we have a lot of young analysts that we interact with constantly. That being said, if this is the case, they are very likely overcompensating, because stats seem to show young people are having LESS sex than ever before.

Feel like this is manipulated to use as "we are mistreated and oppressed"

There are plenty of huge employers that would likely favor cvs with pronouns.

Not surprising at all. It's a big red flag to see pronouns in a zoom meeting or email signature. Anybody who chooses to put that info out there is likely going to be trouble.

My company just changed it's e-mail signature templates to allow (as an option) the addition of pronouns. As an employment lawyer, I'm expecting to hear complaints shortly. Under no circumstances will there be reference to pronouns in my e-mail signature . . . ever.

I can't agree enough with this statement. I do everything I can to hire over the age of thirty, and when I see those types of things, they're the biggest red flags.

Pronouns are probably a huge plus with government jobs and public schools.

In the private sector, pronouns mean "I'm going to protest in front of your office at the first inconvenience."

The thing Recruiters look for in a candidate after they have decided if the person is qualified is whether they will get along with others and be a good team player.

Adding pronouns to your resume immediately tells the recruiter or hiring manager that this person is going to be a problem and will likely have issues with half our work force. It would be very dumb to expect a resume like that to help you outside of Starbucks or a super woke Silicon Valley org.

my firm offered the option. What's interesting is that you can generally get a feel for who uses it based on geography, practice area, and to a lesser extent, age. On the age front, the people most likely to use it - which surprised me a bit - were millennial age. The younger attorneys generally don't.
