In years past, VA compensation was adjusted to match social security by a separate action and was not guaranteed each year. This month both Democrats and Republicans passed a new law which codifies COLA increases for our disabled veterans. Last year it was around 8% and this year about 5.8%.
So for a married vet with two kids he's set to increase from the following monthly rates..

$642.05 to $679.29
50%
$1,265.82 to $1,339.24
80%
$2,292.15 to $2,424.94
100%
$4,072.12 to $4,308.30
Our government doesn't get much done together these days, but it's nice they can still come together and take care of our veterans.
