Something else worth considering is how the push for the EU has chipped away at national individualism, if that makes sense. You saw it with Brexit and I think other countries are waking up to how they sold their national soul to an ideal that won't work. This is pretty wild. Went and looked at the data. Since 2008 the EU GDP has only grown 2% while the US has grown 79%. Their population has grown 2% as well so they are just treading water.
Our population has grown ~8%.

I can't remember which German it was but when asked about what he thought about the French resistance and how effective it was he responded by saying "we didn't know the French were resisting". We stopped dropping weapons to the resistance sometime in 1943 because by most accounts they only used the supplies to fight rival resistance groups. Stalinists vs. Trotskyists vs. DeGaullists.
And then after the war the reports of French theft of aid dollars is also legendary.
Then they threatened to join the Soviet Sphere over Vietnam.

For now maybe but when they wake up to the sound of the call to prayer and perhaps their daughters (if anybody is having kids anymore) are subjugated to the whims of Islam then perhaps they may not like it.
Who knows. I'm not optimistic about the average, western citizen. They are weak willed, uneducated and base morals on whatever whim is easiest sold by social media. By the time most people care - it will be too late and folks will die.

Europeans are already acclimated to a lower standard of living than Americans. And they've imported millions of poor people from Africa that are a huge burden on their government and resources. The refugees don't work and get food and money from the government. When the food and money runs out, there will be civil unrest, from a violent foreign population.
It's not sustainable. Their economies and governments cannot support the free loading immigrants. The European society as we have known it in the 20th century will collapse into civil unrest and poverty.
The only solution is for Europe to cut off government benefits and food for immigrants, and hope many of them leave once the freebies go away. But they will get violent and riot when their freebies are cut off. Or more extreme, hatch a plan to re-integrate the migrants back to Africa. That will cause a civil war / skirmishes. Many migrants are there to conquer Europe. Many have a religious mission. They won't leave peacefully.
There is no easy path forward. Europe will be lost to 3rd world violent culture and corruption if they do nothing. Any path towards preserving civilized western society will be painful as well.

There is a reason it's illegal everywhere to feed wild animals. Mammals, including humans, get violent and dangerous when the hand outs disappear.
What is happening in France is terrible, but it serves them right. I recall taking a bus trip through France in the mid '60s and seeing just how much these losers hate Americans. They even used their own homes as billboards along the highway, painting "yankee go home", along with similar hateful messages.

Probably more accurate to say Western Europe, specifically. Eastern Europe may hold out a bit longer because they have and will go to the right much more easily than France or Germany who have largely neutered themselves, especially Germany. And both have large Muslim populations by comparison - absolute and percentage wise. Those two are in serious trouble.
Germany is already sucking wind economically. Worst economy in Europe with a shrinking GDP. They are in a recession because of their idiotic energy policy and over reliance on manufacturing as a high cost country.

I can see more civil type fighting until things change .. with all the illegals they now have floating around who knows what happens over there ?
