This was funny but painful because it was so true.

Carvey is a legend.

I don't think it's a coincidence that so many of those SNL standouts from the 90's like Carvey, Norm, Spade, Sandler, Miller, Schneider, Jackson, Farley and others weren't committed leftists. They would make fun of everyone. And many of them today are actually right of center. Comedy wasn't about petty partisan games like it is with most comedians today.

Obama killed it. He was the first President they refused to make fun of and now they don't make fun of any Democrats. Most comedy today looks like Soviet style TV skits.
It was made clear under Obama, but I think it started before him. During the GWB era there was a transition with a newer generation of leftist talent, writers, and TV execs that replaced the Carvey/Spade/Sandler types around the 2000 election and took on a very mean-spirited comedy directed at GWB. Then when Obama came along it was their first chance to goal-tend for a Dem President. Though to his credit, Jay Leno was one of the few late-night comedians still willing to make fun of both sides in that period. But then he eventually stepped away.

The closest thing to the centrist comedy we saw on SNL in the 90's or Leno is Gutfeld on Fox. While he's still right of center, he's much closer to center than any other late night comedian because at least Gutfeld mocks both parties.

That's awesome! I guess if your career is pretty much over you can be brave and say things you really want to say.

Where did you get that idea?

They both have current stand up tours.

Their careers are not over.

Not even close to it.

It's interesting how they and Rob Schneider have been very outspoken against a lot of this bull***** SNL alums.

I'm guessing this is because they are from the era of SNL when everyone was fair game.

Yep. If a Republican president had made the amount of gaffes and bull**** that Biden does, it would've been nonstop on their show but yet all they could do is keep picking on Trump.

I haven't watched SNL in decades, but at least Alec Baldwin got knocked down a bit. Too bad he's not really gonna be charged with a real crime just like Hunter. It's (D)ifferent.

If SNL wasn't part of the D machine, they could easily do 24 hours a day of skits picking on this clown show. The writers could work part-time with half their brain tied behind their back. (Rip Rush)

What a waste of good material.

In the 70s thru 2000s they did mock Democrats.
