A half decent Texas boys 1A team could win the WNBA championship.

Go to your local high school gym and pick out the best couple players. Those guys are generally taller than 6'0 and can usually dunk even if shorter than that. They would be able to work those WNBA players pretty well. Basketball isn't tennis. It's explosion and height/wingspan and raw speed/agility/quickness.
There's a reason most ncaa womens scout teams are made up of a bunch of washed up high school guys who could never sniff men's college ball. The best players at the Rec at A&M who aren't college athletes could absolutely rake our women's team over the coals and would probably be able to win some WNBA games. Don't kid yourself.
The worst Ivy league men's team or worst Missouri Valley team would go undefeated in a WNBA schedule.

100% confident in saying that any bench player in D1 would be a top performer in the WNBA.

I mean yeah a top/real male athlete is clearly going to dominate in the WNBA, but even at the college level generic rec center hoopers wouldn't necessarily be able to beat a NCAA D1 girls team playing together and running plays.
I played with the athletes while at a&m a bunch, including with the scout team of boys that worked with the girls and those games could be competitive with the girls. There are some things that men can do that women can't but, a 6'3" girl on the post with some muscle, they can be every bit as physical and find a way to get a good shot up against a 6' male. It's a bit harder for a 5'4" female to find a way to get shots obviously, but at the WNBA level a lot of those ladies are like 6 foot tall even on the perimeter. I dislike the LGBT virtue signaling as much as anyone, but WNBA women would run the court against rec league dudes all day and would probably knee the dudes in the balls while doing it. Women play fierce.

I'm not sure it would take that.
Some college women's teams practice with guys. Most of these guys played HS varsity -- some might have gotten DII scholarship offers or could have played DIII, but I'm told that others didn't get any looks. If the guys go all out, they'll beat a well coached higher level women's DI team. At worst, it will be a draw.
I dated a girl in college who was a DII tennis player. She wasn't the top in the nation, or even at her school, but good enough to play at that level. I'm a 3.5 on my best day (or was then). While she could usually beat me, it wasn't easy. She couldn't return my serve if it was on. I had trouble with the spin she was putting on the ball which caused me to mis-hit. She was a far smarter player than I was (practice, coaching, etc.) but the 2 or 3 times I did beat her, I barely won the second set and tired her out in the third. We got to where we had to quit playing and just hit back and forth!
The girl's basketball team at my kids HS was actually pretty good (won state 8 out of 11 years). They were 1A/2A but played a bunch of their out of district games against 5A/6A teams and beat them quite often. One year, in the second round of the playoffs (they had a bye) they beat the team 112-6. No. Not a typo.TAMUallen said:Captain Pablo said:AggieEP said:WestTexAg12 said:

Exactly.
Freshmen boys team I was on in highschool was able to smash the playoffs level varsity girls team. It wasn't even fun once you got by the initial "oh my gosh theyre terrible" first couple of minutes
