Good but I don't have much hope.

The Beaumont Republican Party voted to censor John Cornyn and called for the entire state to do so after he screwed over Texas with the Omnibus bill.

Drunk incoherent speaker of the house from their own area - haven't read anything about their displeasure.

Good.

I expect Phelan to win though. That's the issue with the two party system mentality. It stops being about the best candidate, and starts being about who has the best chance of beating the opponent. 8 times out of 10, that means selecting the incumbent, regardless of their quality.

Property taxes suck but mostly because people have to pay them all at once as opposed to the 40% the feds steal unnoticed from payroll.

Problem with primarying Phelan is his family is well known down here and most voters are uninformed. They will vote for the familiar and incumbent.

I posted my plan to privatize, over a 20-30 year stretch, on TA several years ago. It would work, and benefit all of Texas. Socialized education was bound to fail.

Dade? Shilo? Where are the Jimmy's and Joe's?

People want less taxes but nobody can agree on what to stop spending on. Everybody wants their handout in whatever form in comes in. Rural folks are no different too.

It is very discouraging to see our great state being run by self serving congress members. They have failed miserably and the people and tax payers have suffered.

I'm curious what you think the big failures are. What are they specifically?

Texas seems to be outperforming all other states in the things that matter most.

It is real easy. Property tax reform after 10 to 20 years of failure. DEI in the public ed and higher ed. The border. We could have done much better in spite of the feds. School choice and support of Charter schools. Gas tax. Should have been raised years ago. Our highways are 10 years behind while truck traffic across the state is tearing up our major highways. Gaming should be allowed. How is it that some groups called natives are allowed to game but other areas of the state are not? Meanwhile our neighbor states reap the benefits of gaming.
