I love MP and really like Cleese but too many old interviews of him advocating what I will call proto-woke nonsense. Attacking the west, the church, the family, etc.

He helped usher this stupidity into power but at least he is now fighting it.

I never took those that way. Just considered them comedy. Irreverant, yes but still good natured comedic ribbing.

After all, sometimes people do need to laugh at themselves, too.

I think the skits do poke fun at all the things I mentioned in a mostly fun manner. In his interviews though he seemed to really dislike the things I mentioned.

British comedy was just different back then. They never got over our (America's) dumping them. But they also poked a lot of fun at their own government and societal norms there.

Sketch comedy is an art form. Sometimes it falls flat, sometimes it induces belly laughs where your stomach hurts from laughing. What Mom called a "stitch in your side."

I was a teen in the 70s. Monty Python was funny to me.

If you think I am a liberal, you are incorrect. Assume sarcasm on my part. Sorry if something I post has already been posted. Just the way it is!!
