Fix the economy, enforce the border, and stop ESG then I'll start to care more about legalizing pot.

Anyone that believes in freedom should support the repeal of prohibitions against both. It makes no sense that pro 2A people support MJ prohibition and vice versa. They're both wedge issues that the respective parties use fear mongering to gain voters that buy in to their reefer madness style propaganda. There's zero reason any law abiding citizen should not be able to purchase any plant or gun they choose.

So you are fine with Opium Poppy and Coca plant just being sold at Home Depot ?

I would love to be able to chew on coca leaves personally. Would probably provide a solid healthy boost when golfing, during the morning commute etc. They're actually good for you....certainly much healthier and safer than tobacco.aggiez03 said:

Yep. Dade Phelan is not a republican. He needs to be removed from office, yet many here are behind his attempt to remove Paxton from office.Quote:
Well they could easily do all of the above but didn't do any.
No substantial border legislation, No legislation against foreign bad actors like China from continuing to buy up Texas land and properties, No legislation to improve the grid system, No legislation to give the state powers to go after election fraud.
Texas Republicans are mostly Democrats.
And the House Speaker should have been removed but wasn't!

For all the people who would rather not waste time on it, why not just pass it then? Especially medical MJ?
Now we get to waste more time on it the next session, and the session after that. Like we have done the previous sessions before. The people want it, the house approved it overwhelmingly. Just get it through then you don't have to see 5 grape soda threads a month anymore.
We can all currently get weed pretty easily and consume it with no hassle from the authorities.
Thus, I'm indifferent to it.
I am pro cannabis legalization and like to partake sometimes, but I am totally fine with this. When walking around urban centers where is is legal, you smell it every f-ing where. I was just in downtown Chicago the other day and you almost smelled it every few minutes walking around the business areas. In downtown LA a few years back before the pandemic it was even worse. Felt weird to walk around with colleagues and smell weed constantly.YouBet said:I'm fine with them passing it (as long as they bar smoking it in public); I just don't care if they do or don't.Definitely Not A Cop said:

Yeah, I'm not against medicinal MJ at all and the whole issue is hypocritical (obviously) considering alcohol and tobacco are legal. I'm probably going to need it at some point and keep fully powered and operational gummies on hand (although I rarely use them).Definitely Not A Cop said:YouBet said:I'm fine with them passing it (as long as they bar smoking it in public); I just don't care if they do or don't.Definitely Not A Cop said:

I mostly agree with you, but I get salty on the medicinal side. I have known epileptics who much rather prefer using MJ versus the standard drugs that are prescribed, because of the side effects make them feel absolutely horrible. Same thing with athletes who have chronic pain issues. It just seems insane to me that we are perfectly ok with letting people like Brett Favre get so addicted to pain pills that he's popping 12 Vicodin a day and destroying his liver so that he can live without pain, but crack down on other players who would rather smoke a joint to numb their aches. That being said, I know there are absolutely NFL and college players who are just doing it recreationally because it's fun, I'm not dismissing that.
I know it's a complicated issue that goes all the way to the top of big pharma, but it just seems insane to me that we can't get people on board with allowing doctors to prescribe healthier options to treat pain than what is currently allowed.

If put to a vote in Texas both would probably pass easily.
Is Dan Patrick supposed to represent the majority or his own personal beliefs?
Indeed it is not, but the same thing has been said about the US Congress as if every one of them is working on the same, single item. Grape, why don't you just go over to your local CBD store and get some of the legal hemp derived version of your favorite substance?Grapesoda2525 said:

I really wish Texas had term limits because I wish we could move on from potty patrol whackos like Patrick, Abbott, and Paxton.

The good news is that even my hard core Republican highly religious, model of humanity mother had friends that knew who to talk to in her circles for obtaining weed when she became ate up with cancer and eventually died from it.
The asshats running things and handwringing over marijuana and abortions should just get over themselves and die already. All of them. Time for the old farts to head out to the farm. We're getting there but some of them seem to be taking longer than others to get gone.

Do you have young daughters? Even if hypothetical, you'd be okay with them being in a bathroom alone with a grown man you don't know and has mental delusions? Why is it okay for people like you to put my daughters in that situation?
