Yet the extremists continue to adore and idolize. The GOP needs a good flushing.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump's political operation has helped pay the legal expenses of more than a dozen people contacted by prosecutors investigating the former president, tying up millions of dollars that otherwise could be used for his 2024 White House bid.

Reuters has identified 13 potential witnesses or co-defendants who were represented by law firms that received payments from a political group run by Trump, based on interviews and a review of court records and campaign finance disclosures.

The payments were disclosed in campaign finance reports as general payments to law firms rather than specific payments to individuals.

Those law firms, which include Brand Woodward, Dhillon Law Group and Greenberg Traurig, received more than $2.1 million in the first six months of this year from Save America, a Trump group that is separate from his campaign but played a major role raising money to support him as the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination.

Don't forget he said Christie should drop out, after calling Trump Donald Duck for ducking the debate, because anyone making up names like that shouldn't be running for President.
Literally his only means of evaluation is how nice someone is to him.
the only interesting thing about that is Trump calling Haley a birdbrain and savaging her

maybe she isn't in it to become his VP after all

You're projecting...no one ever said that...what was said was that Trump is ahead of Biden in the polling averages (and with those polls today, that spread did indeed tighten to within the margin of error...Trump still technically leading), and DeSantis is behind Biden in the polling averages...

So when looking at the polling averages, Trump was outperforming DeSantis in a head to head vs Biden...

Now I would ask, in these same polls showing Trump trailing Biden...what do they say about DeSantis vs Biden? If they show DeSantis leading Biden, then your argument is valid... If they show DeSantis trailing Biden by more than Trump does, then your argument is pretty empty...

I really wish DeSantis could get more momentum out of the debates. But anecdotal stories like this one are not encouraging, in my view.

From a debate watching party in Simi Valley.
Quote:

I attended a Ventura County Republicans debate watch party in Simi Valleyjust down the street from the Reagan Library where the GOP presidential debates were being heldto gauge reactions among viewers.
Quote:

But there are also over 5 million Republicans in the state that produced Ronald Reagan, and they're still passionate, so I was curious to see how they reacted to the candidates.
Quote:

"Cheesy," a man sitting at my table said about Christie's attempts at humor. The other thing that really stuck out to me is that viewers at this watch party seemed turned off by the constant interruptions by virtually all the candidates, but especially South Carolina's Tim Scott and Nikki Haley.

"I can't hear a darn thing," grumbled a man at a nearby table.

At the end of the evening, co-host and Ventura County Republican Party member Lindsey Stetson polled the room. Ron DeSantis received by far the loudest cheers, followed by Haley, which surprised me. The rest all received a smattering of applause, except for Pence and Christiewho were both roundly booed.

Stetson asked how many attendees supported Trump before the debate. Most hands in the room flew up. "Did anyone change their mind afterward?" No, was the resounding answer.
It appears that Trump was right to not show uphe still won the night.

Trump's biggest supporters, including Newt, are once again calling to cancel the debates, for everyone to drop out and endorse Trump, and give him all of their $$$.

Basically they want to cancel the primaries, anoint their orange god king, and deny people the chance to have a say.

Gunning down people in the streets would only be popular with those who do not believe the rule of law, or just want to see people killed for whatever reason. Hmm, the left also has a desire to see that happen, just to different people.

Calls for violence might be fresh red meat for MAGA, but it is not going to gain him new voters.

The only two viable options are DeSantis and Haley, but this isn't a 100 meter dash. It's Trump against Fat Albert and the Cosby kids. Trump will win the republicans primary, DeSantis time will come but not 2024.

2024 is it. If the Democrats win in 2024, they will make sure no Republican will ever have a chance again as they will federalize elections and enact all of their 2020 tactics nationwide.

If you want to ride the Trump train one last time, this is where it will take us.

I am not on the Trump train, I just think the other candidates are on the little engine that could except thinking you can won't get it done.

Trump has created a sh*tstorm of the republican primary. But it is what it is and Trump won't be beat in the primary. It's going to be Trump against a Biden Newsom ticket.

We have at least an even chance at winning with Trump. He needs to pick someone like Tulsi Gabbard and we could win. It's the best of bad options, and I think Trump will do things like finish the wall, get the economy going again, stop the endless foreign aid, etc..

Lets hope he does. If not we are all in big trouble. The good news, I think he will turn it on soon.. He is going to have a big war chest and unlike Trump, he is smart and very disciplined. Trump is in danger of going broke. He has proven to be impulsive and totally undisciplined.

DeSantis would likely win AZ, and again I think Trump could win AZ

NV is a tough one to see going red with either candidate, DeSantis has a better chance, but NV is blue.

I suppose I'm a little more optimistic about Trumps chances in GA and AZ than you are. Trump has a chance mostly because Biden is a babbling idiot at this point.

It really utterly baffles me when someone thinks Trump will accomplish in his second term things he didn't have enough gumption or smarts or savvy or even guile to accomplish in his first term.

A second term Trump won't be some fighter on a mission to take down the political elites or the Deep State. That's just the image his supporters sell you because they desperately want to believe that.

In reality he'll be a really old man with declining mental faculties who's only goals will be desperate attempts at adoration and a legacy as "the greatest leader in history", which means he'll cave to whatever demands the left roadblock him with just so he can say, "I got this done, and I got that done when no one else could". He already showed that in his first term, and he's basically telling us in interviews now that he'll do that in his second term (see his abortion rights statements).

He won't secure our border. He won't de-weaponize the DOJ. He won't take steps to secure future elections.

Currently it seems it's some kind of religious fanaticism with regard to Trump. None of it's logical anymore. It's very dem like behavior that we really haven't seen in conservatives until Trump. There's just no way a rational thinking conservative can think he's a good candidate now.

Lol, another unhinged post. so I take it you will be voting for Biden. That is your other choice besides Trump or abstain, which is 1/2 vote for Biden. DeSantis should be polling in the 30s right now if he stood a chance at beating Trump. If this was a football game, it would be 35 to 7 or so at the half at this point, but holding onto hope for a comeback.
