Brilliant strategy by Trump folks here and his major influencers.

If that is how they feel, then everyone who would normally vote Republican, but isn't an Only and Forever Trumper, should leave the line for President blank if the Trump is the nominee.

It will be an ass kicking of such epic proportion that it might wake up a few of them.

Who am I kidding, Trump could lose 80 million to 20 million and they'd still blame fraud.

It seems so strange that Trump is not even bothering doing the EASY things to win this election:

like going to Iowa every week, going to NYC for 9/11, actually doing rallies and campaigning.

instead he is photographed playing golf with the Saudis.

You've seen the Trump supporters on here eat up every excuse Trump makes, every lame "Truth" post he makes, and declare they're even more staunchly behind him because of the indictments. They don't care that he feels he's entitled to their vote, heck they actually believe it as well. So they don't really care that he's not trying.

As for Trump, he lives in an echo chamber where those voices are all he hears. So I truly believe he thinks he doesn't have to run a true campaign, even if he did have the money to. And part of its also just the game he plays - control the narrative. He sells the image of having the nomination in the bag so that people will believe it. And it works on his true believers, they never question him. Its the non-true believers (i.e. the vast majority of America) who know better.
His "echo chamber" includes over 70 million voters that voted for him in 2020.

As composed to the dozens that belong in DeSantis'.
Many of those did so reluctantly and will not do so in 2024, though.

That WILL be the reason he lost when it happens. Couldn't be because people didn't vote for Trump. Everyone they know LOVES Trump.

And we'll get 20 threads a day on that subject and starting the talk of Trump 2028: THIS TIME HE MEANS IT!!!!

Even Pence beats Biden. But Rhonda loses! How can that be? Guess all his team of supporters arent making an impact. What a shame. Could we see Rhonda fall into the single digits and battle it out at the bottom with Chris Christie?

The FOX News poll that is being quoted had 1,012 registered voters nationwide out of which 409 Republicans were identified to ask questions about primaries. In contrast the Selzer/Des Moines Register/NBC poll in Iowa had 2,953 registered voters with 406 likely Republican caucus goers identified. The Fox News poll doesn't even quantify if the Republicans were likely primary voters.

So which poll has a better sample? I'm just a lowly programmer but it would appear that the Selzer poll had a bit better sample and all of it in Iowa not randomly distributed across the country. The Fox News poll had on average between 8 to 9 registered republicans per state. It probably didn't work out that way but that means in some states they had LESS!

These polls are garbage in garbage out. Nationwide polls at this point are less than worthless, if that is even possible. Quote them if you like but understand that you can get the same results surveying kindergartners.

The purpose of the polls is to make Republican voters think that Trump is inevitable, thus helping to make sure Biden, Newsom, Whitmer, or Big Mike crush Trump and the Democrats gain absolute and forever control of the country.

absolutely this

anyone who has been alive for a few years knows that only "LIKELY VOTER" screens are remotely accurate. and even those polls can be manipulated.

This is a good thing. Trump needs to get out there and show he either has it or he doesn't. A basement campaign is not going to work for the General. I just wish he would actually debate and face his opponents.

It's a blow, but kind of expected. They were already working out a compromise and RNC rules says this needed to be done in 2022.

Trump's "lobbying" included a party at MAL...pretty swampy. As much as he rails against the swamp, he just wants the swamp to work for him.

Trump has always been swamp/establishment, just from the other side of the equation. He even claimed such during the debate with Hillary.

This weird and stupid idea that he's a "proven warrior" isn't based on any facts and only "muh feelz", like all things liberal. He got his head caved in constantly, by "the swamp", Fauci....everyone. And that was WITH power. If he won another term, he'd be a friendless and powerless lame duck gimp. No thanks.

Truer words have never been spoken. Trump's anger when he was President was not that there was a Swamp, it's that he couldn't control the Swamp. If you look at everything he did while President and the problems he had through that lens it makes so much more sense.

I don't think it's a bad idea for him to go on offense and force Trump to respond. Trump is going to have to self-destruct and best way to do that is by opening his mouth.

Quote:

Billionaire and Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, a major Republican donor, says he is sitting on the sidelines of the GOP presidential primary and not supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who he backed in 2022.
Griffin is not impressed with what he's seeing from the alternatives to front-runner Donald Trump and has yet to decide who he plans to help, he said in an interview with CNBC's Sara Eisen set to air Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET.

"I'm still on the sidelines as to who to support in this election cycle," Griffin said. "Look, if I had my dream, we'd have a great Republican candidate in the primary who was younger, of a different generation, with a different tone for America. And we'd have a younger person on the Democratic side in the primary, who would have his message for our country."

With two younger, fresher candidates, "We'd have a debate around ideas and principles and policies to make this a great nation," he said. "We're not having that dialogue right now."

Griffin has an estimated net worth of $35 billion, and he gave more than $100 million during the 2022 midterms to a mix of a state and federal candidates, with almost all of it going toward Republicans. Griffin gave $5 million in 2021 to a political action committee backing DeSantis' successful reelection bid, according to state campaign finance records.

His sidelining in the GOP primary means, at least for now, one of the party's biggest contributors will not be putting his considerable financial resources toward a candidate challenging Trump's enormous advantage.

He probably also has access to internal polling which very well could be following external polling...

He sounds a lot like myself an a few others...we think DeSantis is probably the best choice for how we identify our priorities, but we don't see him getting the traction he needs to overtake Trump for the nomination...

With the disaster of the DeSantis campaign rollout on that twitter debacle, most people, such as myself, thought DeSantis would make a very good showing in the debate and get a big boost from that. But that hasn't happened either.

I see Nikki Haley and Tim Scott schlepping around the cable news outlest but haven't really seen DeSantis all that much recently. Is it a replay of the Scott Walker situation where he didn't get any traction?
