"Elon Musk has "deep disdain" for Donald Trump, who he believes is a "con man" and "the world's champion of bull****," according to a sprawling new biography from Walter Isaacson.

The hotly-anticipated book from the famed biographer of Steve Jobs examines the life and career of Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur whose ventures include Tesla, SpaceX, and now X, formerly known as Twitter. Isaacson, who spent two years interviewing and shadowing Musk, delved into his complex views on U.S. politics which his biographer describes as hatred for Trump but also increasing hostility towards the left.

Musk's turn to the right has manifested publicly in an open embrace of far-right accounts on X. But despite his MAGA bedfellows, Musk has long held disdain for Trump.

In December 2016, Musk had a private meeting with Trump, during which he was "baffled" by the then-president-elect's comments about Tesla and NASA.

"He seems kind of nuts," Musk said after the meeting, according to Isaacson, "but he may turn out okay."

On the contrary: Musk "concluded that Trump as president was no different than he was as a candidate," Isaacson wrote. "The buffoonery was not just an act."

How Many Cabinet Members, Republicans and Successful People have to tell you Trump sucks
So, it's obvious Musk has turned to the right because he now allows far right accounts? As opposed to when it was JUST far left accounts?

That's piss poor analysis.

It's from Walter Isaacson's new book which he has been promoting all over the media the last few days.

Still, it reflects that Musk has interacted with Trump and quickly realized he was not a serious person or leader.

In the primary, trump is still around 50 in Iowa. It's mid-September. If this is gonna change in the early states (IA and NH) it will need to happen in the next 60-90 days.

No small coincidence Jack smith is timing the trial around Jan 2 for some of his multitude of indictments anyway to make sure Trump is the nominee.

That Biden is polling anywhere close to any GOP possible nominee in battleground states is an absolute indictment of the GOP's ability to message/compete/prospects, imho.

interesting you typed that-

any incumbent under 50 is in trouble- that has literally been the guiding and accepted fact of political campaigns for decades.

lnteresting that the Trumpers will be ignoring the poll which dropped yesterday showing Trump support in Iowa is plunging..

Trump support in Iowa drops to 49 from 62 in the previous poll.

so the guy running for President a THIRD time, who is one of the most famous men in the world, is supported by less than half of HIS OWN PARTY much less the general population.

Trump Support Declining In Iowa
It's interesting that Trump's own poll didn't find as much support for Trump vs DeSantis as the latest Emerson poll did...

Not sure what to make of that Emerson Poll, honestly...n = 357 with an MOE = +/- 5.1%...but definitely a big swing toward DeSantis with that particular poll...

Just not seeing the same swing in others...

it's literally incredible that in a world of rapidly developing Artificial Intelligence where no one knows how to deal with exploding technology...

the USA is choosing between a 81 year old dementia patient and a guy who brags about not reading briefing books who would be 83 years old if he won election.

83!!

insanity!

Perhaps it makes me a CM, but wouldn't it be nice to have a nominee focused on fiscal responsibility rather than an octogenarian that spent more than any other administration?

It seems so strange that Trump is not even bothering doing the EASY things to win this election:

like going to Iowa every week, going to NYC for 9/11, actually doing rallies and campaigning.

instead he is photographed playing golf with the Saudis.

really think he needs to hammer hard in Nevada

that seems to a state where he can leverage his popularity with the Mormons in Utah to drive Mormon voters in the Nevada primary and caucus. and no one else is competing there.

Yep, Trump pretty much rigged Nevada to ensure he wins it.

Very Democrat of him.

You've seen the Trump supporters on here eat up every excuse Trump makes, every lame "Truth" post he makes, and declare they're even more staunchly behind him because of the indictments. They don't care that he feels he's entitled to their vote, heck they actually believe it as well. So they don't really care that he's not trying.

As for Trump, he lives in an echo chamber where those voices are all he hears. So I truly believe he thinks he doesn't have to run a true campaign, even if he did have the money to. And part of its also just the game he plays - control the narrative. He sells the image of having the nomination in the bag so that people will believe it. And it works on his true believers, they never question him. Its the non-true believers (i.e. the vast majority of America) who know better.

And his polls have increased by how many?

He's knocked on 2 million doors and people still are not listening to him. If he knocks on 2 million more, will he gain at least 5%?

He seems to be a masterful communicator.

His "echo chamber" includes over 70 million voters that voted for him in 2020.

As composed to the dozens that belong in DeSantis'.

Go watch that Trump/Kelly interview and then watch DeSantis on CBS and tell me who communicates better.

Current delegate count is still 0-0. Wonder what Trump shot today?

I'll never understand being so infatuated with trump that someone will get giddy over crapping on the best Republican governor in half a century. Makes no sense.

Or crapping on the best Republican president we've had since 1989. And, while Regan spent like a drunken sailor (which Trump is accused of), Regan gave amnesty to illegals and did nothing to make the border actually secure. So, maybe Regan wasn't the most conservative.

And saying Trump has won the nomination is not crapping on anyone. You should post where I actually do crap on him. This post is not an example.

DeSantis is doing multiple events and interviews per day, he was also great on Hannity. The point is those were 2 more hostile interviews (though Kelly still loves Trump she at least asked him a few tough questions).

You miss the real point which is I (and most people here) will vote for the winner. Trump not doing many events, having no ground game, and relying on the media to help him is going to backfire bigtime if he is the nominee. The MSM wants him to get that nomination because it's a double win for them, they have a circus show to follow AND a guaranteed loser.

I care about winning in November and that is going to mean winning the 2 biggest Swing voting blocks, Suburban voters (especially married women) and Catholics. Those voters are key in the Swing states especially.

BTW, those polls showing Trump beating Biden are always with both candidates from 40-45%. That's the problem. The other 10-15% is almost certainly swinging 2 to 1 for Biden just like it did last time, worse than that if the Dems run someone else.
