3 years ago there were probably a hundred posters here - myself included - defending Trump's personality with, "we vote on policy, not personality." Fast forward and some of those same folks now find personality more important.
3 years ago, despite Trump's personality, most of us were happy with the majority of his policy decisions and voted for him, even though many of us could not stand him or his personality. He was still better than the alternative.

The problem now is he has spent the last 3 years making himself more and more toxic to the voters he needs to win the election.

wasn't one of Trump's excuses

that he had to surrender to jail today in Georgia so that was why he couldn't go to Milwaukee last night?

No one cares about California taking Trump off the ballot.

what happens when ARIZONA takes him off the ballot?!

when he loses Arizona AGAIN, the election is over.

and Trump will lose Arizona and Georgia again.

if only we had elections to see which side is correct!

2020: Trump loses to Biden in Arizona
2020: Trump loses to Biden in Georgia
2021: Trump supports GOP senators who lose in Georgia
2022: Trump supports Kari Lake in Arizona who loses
2022: Trump supports Blake Masters in Arizona who loses
2022: Trump supports Walker in Georgia who loses

how many losers do there have to be before the losers realize they are losing?
Franchione just needed a FEW MORE YEARS and we would have been great!!!!

Ever think your passion for DeSantis would be better served as a volunteer for his campaign, banging on doors as part of his massive ground game rather than trying to convince less than a dozen people on TexAgs that you're right and they're wrong?

Your passion is truly admirable, but I think it's wasted on such a niche community forum...
some of us actual conservatives do all of the above:

donate to DeSantis
campaign for him
buy his merchandise to support him.

It's not showing in his polling numbers, unfortunately…he needs more people like you to be canvassing and not just talking on chat forums and Twitter…

Former President Donald Trump will surrender to authorities Thursday in Georgia in his 2020 election fraud case, which will mark the first time that television cameras will broadcast his criminal proceedings.

Trump, 77, is expected to turn himself in at Fulton County Jail on Thursday on 13 counts of racketeering, conspiracy, and other charges related to his efforts to invalidate the Georgia results of the 2020 presidential election.

Unlike his previous surrenders in New York City, Miami and Washington, DC, Trump is expected to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken before posting a $200,000 bond.

Money. DeSantis has a lot more money and a lot more donors than Trump and has no legal issues to drain him.
Trump almost certainly isn't as rich as he claims, but he is still worth BILLIONS of dollars. He's not going to spend his own money if he can get the MAGA hats to give it to him, but given that winning this election or not could affect whether he ends up going to prison, I don't think he's going to let money stand in the way.
It's more complicated than that though. Most of his wealth is tied up in big assets but is not liquid. I mean he could put Bedminster up for sale but that's more than a little complicated. Will he do it if he has to? Sure.

The point though is that he will pay his legal bills first and campaign second and I don't know how much is going to be left over after the legal bills are paid.

Then you are ecstatic about winning more socialism.
I think the point is that people in those areas care about how Trump presents himself and while most of us here understand just how terrible Biden is they may not blame him as directly as we do. Perception is reality and it's also the same reason Trump is leading DeSantis even though DeSantis on paper is a better candidate.

Things can certainly change and almost certainly will though, we just don't know how.

The left doesn't realize that they've now set a precedent they can't take back.

Just like the "nuclear option" for judges...It was EVIL to the left/media when GWB brought it up. Then, Harry Reid said **** the Republicans and did it and the left/media thought it was AWESOME.

Then came the SCOTUS judges with Trump and the GOP shoved their choices right up the left's asses and AGAIN, the "nuclear option" was EVIL to the left/media.

But, it was too late then...that Pandora's Box had been opened and isn't getting closed.

This witch hunt for Trump WILL come back to them soon...and I will laugh my ass off when the same left/media are whining like a 3 year old girl about how UNFAIR it is.

It's based on the debate, which was the first time a lot of voters were able to see the candidates. Not sure averaging in polls from a few weeks ago is relevant.

Although if they're pro Trump/anti-DeSantis I'm sure you'll find away to include them. So concerned…

surprise surprise. you mean a majority of the American people who already sent Trump down to defeat at the hands of Biden in 2020- won't elect a guy who has been impeached twice and indicted for felonies four times?!

who could possibly have seen this coming?!?!

Yet another poll showing Trump losing the election.

Lock Him Up? A New Poll Has Some Bad News for Trump

To hear Donald Trump tell it, the fact that he keeps getting indicted by prosecutors is a boon to his reelection effort. "Any time they file an indictment, we go way up in the polls," he said at a dinner shortly after he was charged by the Justice Department with attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

This counterintuitive claim is questionable on its face if not demonstrably false upon close examination but it is one among many dubious arguments that Trump and his allies have advanced in recent months as he has been confronted with four different prosecutions brought by the Justice Department, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and, most recently, the Fulton County District Attorney's Office in Georgia.

A new POLITICO Magazine/Ipsos poll provides some bad news for Trump: Even as he remains the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination, the cascading indictments are likely to take a toll on his general election prospects.

The survey results suggest Americans are taking the cases seriously particularly the Justice Department's 2020 election case and that most people are skeptical of Trump's claim to be the victim of a legally baseless witch hunt or an elaborate, multi-jurisdictional effort to "weaponize" law enforcement authorities against him.

Will Trump and his fans brag about this poll?

When it takes 0 digging to tell that Trump lied about his weight, which he had 0 reasons to do. The average person is also not going to do any research to tell if he is lying about the indictments, they will just assume he is. This is the consequence of not being able to take him seriously, but pointing that out means you "approve of the left prosecuting him".
