Come on, Trump made a very convincing case for how we need to make it as convenient as possible for the DOJ and FBI to coordinate. I mean God forbid they might have to get on a plane or take a Zoom call. Hell they already took time out of Wray's vacation to have to answer questions from Congress. Don't you realize the importance of making life as convenient and easy as possible for them? What's next? Are you going to cut back on the amenities of the new building? The horror!Old May Banker said:
Appears to be a substantial difference there... RDS wants 50% of government out of DC, Trump wants more buildings there.
Which policy is more palatable to conservatives?

Trump is going to clean out the FBI and keep them in line. First off though he wants to make sure they can have that giant beautiful building in DC next to the DOJ so they can work together more closely.

Instead of admitting failure, Trump insists he did drain the swamp in his first term and his evidence is that he fired Comey, who he then replaced with Christopher Wray.

But don’t worry. He would totally drain it next time. https://t.co/J5S5MK5uzf

Trump got more votes than any Republican in history. And after Dominion was finished with the totals.
Reagan got more than 58% of the vote in '84 and won everything but Minnesota and DC.Science Denier said:J. Walter Weatherman said:Science Denier said:Well, Fox does hate Trump, so there's that.Im Gipper said:

Explain Texas turnout then
The amazing thing to me is Trump is just making all these mistakes but then I listen to the news and they just talk about his polls and how amazing he is doing. Then if they mention DeSantis they will say he is in disarray and isn't connecting. They don't actually talk about what they are doing or saying or anything. It's just repeating the narrative. Then a few days later they repeat the same narrative and wonder why things aren't changing.Booma94 said:
I feel like Trump is going full Costanza and trying to intentionally lose. He continues to make statements that fly in the face of reason (more weapons to Ukraine, attacking the IA governor, etc). like Costanza dragging the World Series trophy around the parking lot behind his car. It's like he doesn't want to quit, but he also doesn't want to win.

The biggest factor is that the Democrats got really serious about shifting election laws to favor mail in ballots and they spent most of their money on tracking down anyone that could vote and getting those ballots. They also did some things that were cheating I'm sure but the bigger issue is they focused on votes while Trump was focusing on rallies. They figured out the candidate doesn't matter if you just set up micro targeted campaigns and send out legions of paid people to scour 90% Dem areas making sure you got every possible vote through complex digital tracking. That's how you get a massive increase in votes.Charpie said:
Two huge factors drove turnout in 2020.
1. The hate for Donald Trump.
2. People stuck at home because of COVID. This turned into more opportunities to vote because people were more aware that there was an election going on.
Some of it was that but a larger number were EBUs and they didn't vote, someone else voted for them.Quote:

Team Trump attacks Ron DeSantis for the nature of his relationship with the Bush and Ryan families.

I would agree except the votes weren't consistent enough. Too many Republicans won including Kemp and Yee in GA and AZ. I don't disagree on the cheating but my point is still what do you do about it? For instance in Nevada you had hundreds of thousands of Registered Republicans that didn't vote that would have flipped it, that played out in most of the Battlegrounds. You have to get them all or damn close to it. That requires a LOT of legwork. You also need a serious legal team fighting from the start on everything just like the Dems do.aggiehawg said:Some of it was that but a larger number were EBUs and they didn't vote, someone else voted for them.Quote:

They're going to keep churning out as many polls as needed to try to drive donors away from DeSantis and make people think Trump is inevitable. We know it works on the weak minded because we see posts here by people who are voting for Trump simply because "muh feelz" and they want to back a "winner". (Never mind he has lost every election since 2016.)aggie93 said:The amazing thing to me is Trump is just making all these mistakes but then I listen to the news and they just talk about his polls and how amazing he is doing. Well if you don't actually talk about the campaigns and the candidates and their positions then people don't have any new information to change their minds. The stories just aren't about the race outside of the hardcore junkies, even the big podcasters are barely talking about it beyond the surface stuff and often the information they have is just wrong because they aren't even paying attention closely.
That's going to change though. It may have started from last weekend with the Tucker event. it will pick up a bit after the debate. Then by the Fall and into the Winter as Iowa is getting closer people will start to pay attention. When that happens we will see how this ends up.
