for all the fluffing that Magadonia has this thing wrapped up.

a few FACTS:

Kari Lake has a new book out earlier in the week which has been a complete flop and no one purchased it.

Trump ditched one Iowa public rally because of "weather" and then insulted the Iowa GOP Governor and bailed out at the last minute from Tucker Carlson's debates tomorrow in Iowa.

Mike Lindell, Trump's new senior attorney for his four indictments- has to sell off most of his failed company today in MyPillow equipment and facilities.

Fundraising of 35 million- while DeSantis transferred over 160 million dollars.

but the bot army and online polls show Trump is so far ahead!!

The ouch referred to the "confirmed" speaker for Turning Point USA J6 (January 6th) defendants. I wasn't referring to the crazy plane lady, but TMFINR = that mo fo is not real.

Ouch.

TP has really decided to destroy their brand in the last few months. I used to listen to Kirk all the time. He just sold out to Trump and in an overly obvious way. When I listened to an episode several months back and they did their first review of the upcoming primaries I was like WTF? They had Richard Baris on as the "expert" and spent most of the time saying it was a waste of time to have primaries because Trump would win. They somehow spent almost 30 minutes talking and barely mentioned DeSantis as someone who might run but broke down folks like Haley and Scott and Pence. It was just bizarre to the point I actually emailed them asking what they were doing. Kirk had interviewed DeSantis not long before after his book came out so it made zero sense.

It's only gone downhill since. Now you have stuff like Kirk posting about how Trump supporters booed Lindsey and that was somehow a positive for Trump and ignoring Trump's comments about abortion even though Kirk is a hard core Pro Lifer. It's just a bummer because we need more conservative media and outreach.

The whole point is TP has become a joke and done it in a hurry. This event is basically a Trump rally.

Trump supporters should definitely keep attacking Casey DeSantis. I mean she is so unlikable and women can't relate to her.

It's hard for me to understand how groups of professed conservatives can see that and not see the future.

Some people just prefer the celebrity "magic". I get it but there is a strong case for someone people can relate to as well.

The left has been attacking her for several months, and Trump/Cult45 do the same now.

They always attack from the left.

Except it won't hurt Trump at all.

Cult45 eats this up and thinks they scored some great victory. To them, "winning" is acting like an 8 year old bully on the playground.

The Trump wing doesn't have to follow the rule of "don't attack others on the right" because they aren't on the right.

Source is Politico but does corroborate what Charlie Gasparino was saying.

Quote:

With Ron DeSantis stalling in the Republican presidential primary, some wealthy donors who'd hoped he could beat Donald Trump are now giving Tim Scott a serious look.

Billionaire businessman Ronald Lauder, the Este Lauder makeup heir who supported Trump in 2020, recently flew to South Carolina to meet with Scott, the state's junior senator and longshot presidential candidate, according to three people aware of the late June meeting.
Quote:

The meeting comes amid widespread angst among wealthy GOP backers about the emerging 2024 field, and DeSantis' bumpy start in particular. Many high-dollar donors in Trump's native New York City have tired of the former president and worry about his general election chances. But they say their faith in the Florida governor has been shaken by early campaign missteps and his hardline positions on abortion, transgender rights and other culture-war issues. They fear time is running out for anyone else to break through.

Now, several donors are starting to more seriously mull backing Scott a more traditional Republican alternative to the populist and combative Trump and DeSantis.
Quote:

Lauder's surveying of the field appears sparked by his souring on DeSantis. He had donated $200,000 to DeSantis' initial gubernatorial run in 2018 and $10,000 to a super PAC supporting his reelection last year. And DeSantis visited him several months ago to pitch his candidacy, as POLITICO previously reported.

The cosmetics tycoon is not alone in the shift.
Quote:

"A lot of donors that I've met are all curious and want to meet Tim and see what he's about," said Andy Sabin, a metal mogul and Republican contributor. "He's the one guy running who's got some personality and charisma. His delivery is terrific."

Sabin was initially planning to support DeSantis' White House bid but shifted allegiances to Scott during the spring.

Fails the logic test. They want to beat Trump so they are going to jump from the most likely guy to beat Trump to the 3rd or 4th most likely?

Also Tim Scott does not have charisma. He's doing the black preacher routine too often a la Obama and it's so cringe.

Has Trump come up with a nickname for him yet? I don't know that we can take him seriously unless Donald has called him "Tim Flop" or some such nonsense.

Had the unfortunate time of having to listen to Clay & Buck when going to lunch.

Of course they were all Trump, Trump, Trump as always. Clay thinks Trump is going to pick RFK Jr. as his VP if he wins the nomination because it would be the biggest FU to the "establishment."

All it will do is ensure an even bigger loss because conservatives who would hold their nose and vote for Trump would not with RFK Jr. on the ticket. The guy might be right about a few things, but he is a far left liberal on most issues.

Of course not, because Scott is not a threat. I believe Trump congratulated Tim Scott on entering the race after Scott announced.

I'm actually kinda hoping he picks Kennedy for VP. It should put to rest any of the arguments that Trump is conservative.

* Theoretically. There is already more than enough evidence against that, but I would HOPE Trumpers could even concede that he isn't at that point.

I have no beef with Tim Scott. Hell, I like him, too. He, also, would be a GINORMOUS upgrade to the current front-runner. I don't think he has as much of a chance, unfortunately, but again - it's early, and Trump isn't worried about him enough to attack him for ridiculous things yet.

Tim Scott would have been a great candidate in 2008. The "Aw shucks, can't we just get along?" stuff doesn't work today in the Post Obama era world.

More general GOP related than the original topic, but man I hope she gets zero support for this.

I had hopes for Kari's political future a few months ago, but that's pretty much gone now.

The problem with Arizona is twofold.

If Lake, or and other Trumper, is the nominee, it will be either Sinema or the Democrat who wins.

The Tumper will get 25% give or take. The McCain wing of the party, and the not far left Democrats will vote for Sinema. The far left will vote for whichever communist the Democrats nominee.

The real problem is there are probably enough only and forever Trumper NPCs to nominate Lake or whoever Trump tells them to vote for in the primary.
