DeSantis made the mistake of focusing on the Trump voters as his primary voting bloc. He can't out-Trump Trump. Now the moderates want nothing to do with him.

Why in the world did he need to downplay Ukraine as one of his very first public statements? Other than to alienate Republicans who don't like Trump. His campaign is total amateur hour

A resident lib dem weighs in with the all to predictable talking point while lacking an ounce of credibility regarding the subject.

The take-away here is: The Libs WANT trump as the Repub Nominee. Its the only chance they have.

While already rejecting donald's chance of winning if somehow he's winning the nomination (which he won't), the national voters will for sure reject the GOP ticket with both from Florida or any other state. And to presume DeSantos would accept a VP role when he's a successful leader is unrealistic.

As a lib, YOU have a better chance if being on the Trump ticket than Ron D.

DeSantis has been very clear about Ukraine to anyone that actually listened to him. He doesn't think it should be a priority and he doesn't think we should have US troops involved. He wants it resolved. The only controversial thing he said was to agree that Putin was a War Criminal that he probably let himself get trapped a bit by Piers Morgan. The only real daylight between Trump and DeSantis on the issue is DeSantis actually gave an honest answer while Trump just says "I'll end it in ONE DAY!" and walks away with his supporters clapping like seals thinking he can just snap his fingers and fix it. Kind of like the Wall.

One of Team Trump's main strategies seems to be telling outright lies faster than people can refute them. Trump also seems to believe that his own supporters are so dumb and enamored with him that they either won't care or won't check.
It's not that Trump seems to believe his own supporters are so dumb they won't check his endless daily lies.

I think it will be shown that it would have been much better for Trump, DeSantis, and the GOP for Ron to either sit out this election and prepare for 2028 or work with Trump and run as VP for good exposure even if Trump lost. Ron grossly underestimated Trump's star power, persistence and determination. Don & Ron fighting each other only damages each other and helps the dopey Democrats !
Mid-March people were ready to move on from Trump, then Trump gets indicted and gets a 20 point bump. Trump didn't do anything to really earn that bump. It was Republican outrage at the politically motivated indictment that manifested itself towards Trump. Eventually, that support will soften.

Until the Dems slow roll out another big development against Trump. About 1 every 3-4 months will keep the Trump base on the hook enough to screw up the Rep primary.

I am not so sure about that- there will be a LOT of evidence that Trump was going against the Constitution in trying to lie and overturn the election results in Georgia and Arizona

and all the witnesses are REPUBLICANS. it will be hard for even the diehard Trump idiots to claim it is a conspiracy when the main witnesses against Trump are his own voice and Republican office holders.

I legitimately can't comprehend how someone can hold this view.

DeSsntis' primary voting block is people who prefer competent conservative governance and actually winning elections.

Trump's primary voting block is people who want to ***** about losing elections who aren't particularly conservative.

The irony of course is a lot of Trump voters think DeSantis is too pro Ukraine because he isn't saying he will end it in a day.

It's like my Liberal buddy that sees Chris Christie or Asa on CNN or something and sends me a note telling me that they aren't so bad for Republicans because they bash Trump and aren't really conservative.

Republicans don't dislike Trump because of his policies generally they dislike him because of his lack of execution of policies and personality. They also think he has been treated very unfairly.

Sadly, a lot of Trump supporters are pro-Russian/Putin simply because they have to take the opposite position of Biden, or they believe all of the propaganda about biolabs, Ukraine organ harvesting/child sex trafficking, Putin is a warrior for Christendom, etc.

Team Trump has been on an absolute tear the last 24 hours spreading more lies, this time it's DeSantis actually believes the Russia hoax and never defended Trump from it all. The source? An edited video that clips out DeSantis stating that the Russian "influence" had zero impact on the 2016 election.

So many people burning their reputations over this stuff- Poso, Beattie, Julie Kelly, etc. I shouldn't be shocked at this point, but man the Trump campaign is utterly pathetic.

Another excellent interview by Governor DeSantis

Cultists are too dumb to understand- but the ONLY thing that Trump is relying on is the myth of "inevitability" through polling and stirring up the conspiracy theories regarding his upcoming indictments.

any political party that revels in ignorance, lies, and in breaking the law (especially national security and Constitutional law) deserves to be beaten badly.
