This is a fascinating article on multiple levels. Essentially a GOP Legislator in FL who endorsed Trump is talking about how vindictive DeSantis can be and how harshly he keeps people in line. DeSantis has no issues playing rough and applying pressure. It gives some real insight in how DeSantis gets things done and passed such an overwhelmingly conservative agenda with so little pushback.
The irony of course is Trump brags about doing the same but he rarely is capable of actually doing it. DeSantis doesn't talk about it at all, he actually acts friendly if anything on the outside. Yet he is a freaking gangster who will cut your nuts off behind the scenes. To see Trump folks whine about Desantis being a big meanie is just hilarious.
The reality is this is how you win at politics. You have to whip votes and make people in your caucus fear you and understand that there are consequences to opposition. It's even more effective though when those consequences are behind the scenes and difficult to prove. It's ironically an art that Obama was brilliant at, he was all about Hope and Change but was absolutely ruthless to the point of being petty. DeSantis doesn't appear to be petty so much as focused on his agenda but he doesn't feel the need to play nice with people that don't play nice with him.
