Trump All But Confesses to Mishandling Classified Docs on Fox News
Story by Miles Klee
Trump's Defenders Need a New Talking Point Right Now!

A week after his second post-presidential arrest, this one for his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House, Donald Trump turned to Fox News host Bret Baier on Monday to make the case for why he should lead the country again. But he ended up essentially confessing to the crime of which he's accused: stealing and sharing top-secret government information.

Before that, however, Baier pressed Trump to explain why he kept the boxes of classified materials at Mar-a-Lago and refused to comply with government requests to return them, as described in his new felony indictment. In between dismissing the case as "the document hoax" or accusing other presidents of illegally hoarding their own sensitive documents, Trump offered the bizarre explanation that he couldn't give up the boxes to authorities because they also contained… his clothes.

"Like every other president I take things out," Trump said. "In my case, I took it out pretty much in a hurry. People packed it up and left. I had clothing in there, I had all sorts of personal items in there. Much, much stuff." After a brief digression to call his former attorney general Bill Barr a "coward," Trump reiterated, "I have got a lot of things in there. I will go through those boxes. I have to go through those boxes. I take out personal things." Finally, he clarified what those items were: "These boxes were interspersed with all sorts of things: golf shirts, clothing, pants, shoes, there were many things," he said.

Baier also brought up one of the most damning parts of the federal indictment, a recording from July 2021 in which Trump is heard showing off a document detailing an attack plan against Iran, revealing that it's still officially secret and he no longer has the power to declassify it. Trump blustered for a moment about what he actually said, then pivoted to the claim that he wasn't even holding a particular document despite corroborating testimony from others in the room when it happened.

No wonder this guy's lawyers keep quitting on him.

Yahoo News: Trump May Be Forced out of Race

An anonymous Trump advisor sounding exactly as you would expect a grifting Trump sycophant to sound:

"All of these other dip****s are running around the country spending tens of millions of dollars just to introduce themselves to the country, and you guys are giving [Trump] wall-to-wall coverage," the source close to Trump said.

"He's not gonna be in a bunker, and who knows when this stuff goes to trial. I don't think there's a sense of worry, I think there's always a strange sense of calm in Trumpworld because people have been here before."

Have they, though? "I don't think they have a comparable moment, because they don't understand the significance of his actions," the former Trump adviser said.

"He's surrounded by narcissists… Rules don't apply to them."

I am afraid some of our biggest fears are going to play out in the next election. Donald Trump does not stand a chance. And if this cultish remnant of Trump worshipers remains, neither will Desantis or any other GOP candidate. Gavin Newsome, or whoever the Dem nominee is, will take it with ease. Honestly, it could even be Biden again, or Fetterman. Doesn't matter.

We pretty much need the big roided up baby to decide to retire and back Desantis to even have a shot. I fear his cult of loyal worshipers is in the millions. I see it in instagram comments sections all the time on anything related to Desantis. They blindly believe anything and everything fake Christians Donald Trump and Kari Lake tell them to believe...Desantis is "establishment"...Desantis was "endorsed by Soros"...Desantis is a "groomer of young girls".

These idiots are not only stupid, but sick.
just keep in mind that Trump has a literal "army of bots" that has been designed for more than a year to work on social media

many of the idiotic things you are seeing, even on here where it is a one sentence retort which makes no sense are simply bots

also the polls are obviously being manipulated by using "general voters" and not "likely republican voters" and especially by polls run by Clinton and the democrats.

Since you love polls so much (just as an aside did you love the polls as much in 2016 when Clinton was destroying Trump or in 2020 when Biden was destroying Trump?)

but since your entire schtick is polls - here's another one:

EXCLUSIVE:
Ron DeSantis has a better chance than Donald Trump of beating Joe Biden in 2024, according to DailyMail.com poll - but Mike Pence beats them ALL among independent voters

DailyMail.com/JL Partners poll shows Biden would beat Republican challengers
Ron DeSantis would push him closest in 2024, trailing by 43 to 44 percent
Former President Donald Trump would lose by 46 to 44 percent

The biggest takeaway to me is DeSantis has the rarest of quality among politicians, he is willing to admit a mistake and take responsibility for it. He is emotional because he feels his own contrition in shutting things down and how that hurt people. He did the same with business owners who he apologized to in person when he pardoned them and withdrew all fines from early in the pandemic.

You can call DeSantis many things but he is not a robot and he is not a typical politician.

Even in those polls, which I could break down that most are terrible, notice that the numbers are in the low 40s or high 30s. What does that tell you? That 15-20$ are undecided which is more than enough to swing the election either way. Trump and Biden have 100 percent name ID and very strong negatives (Trump slightly worse than Biden). Odds are that undecided vote is not going to Trump because of that, certainly not most of that vote.

DeSantis OTOH if you notice pulls down both numbers in most of those polls. Most people simply don't know much about him but they also are more hesitant to just vote for Biden. Thus a larger undecided pool. Who do undecideds vote for? Change. Youth. Looks. Remind you of anyone?

Beyond all of that though organization is more important than any poll. Trump has zero ground game. Biden has virtually none but he just outsources it anyway, Democrats have their own machine. DeSantis is putting $200 million into it and is already in full swing. It's about who you actually get to the polls or collect their ballots. That's how this game is played now.

It's refreshing to hear a politician speak like that. And that he had every positive anyone could ask for, plus he's got a proven track record of getting things not only done, but making sure they'll last long after he's gone. What more can one ask for.

He didn't finish it though and Biden certainly hasn't. Most of what he built was just replacing old barriers. If you build a wall with huge gaps on either side though it doesn't do much good.

Interesting. Most people would say that not finishing the wall (and then lying repeatedly about finishing it) could easily equal it not "coming to fruition". But as a trump lemming, I can see how that would be confusing.

Pictures of partially completed fragments of wall aren't going to fool people into thinking Trump actually got his mighty wall built.

But guess what? Desantis understands that this requires much more than just building a big metal fence and has actually proven to be highly effective in actually waging war against the out of control woke machine and also actually getting real, meaningful things done in the state of Florida.

That was great. Of course that's all gone now because he didn't make any permanent changes and they were wiped away with Biden's pen. Had he finished the wall though that would have been more permanent.

FWIW the problem wasn't that Trump didn't want to do it the problem was he was always 2 steps behind the people trying to stop him. He didn't take the time to understand his powers until he was already stuck in the mud. You have to have a plan and competent people around you to be effective and he had neither.
