You don't seem to get it...there is nothing to stop them from doing it, and nothing to stop them from being successful at it...

Voting for Trump or voting for DeSantis isn't even the argument...if the establishment doesn't want you in office because you are a threat to their vision of this nation (and the global, progressive society at large) there is quite literally nothing to stop it...outside of armed conflict and redoing this thing called 'America' from scratch...

Our laws are being used against us, and the media is absolutley pushing only one side of the narrative (as they did with Steelem, quid pro quo, Jan 6, Floyd, Covid, and the persecution that Trump has specifically endured since being removed from office)... I know hawg hopes it doesn't get to soem sort of civil conflict, but I frankly see no other recourse to stop it...
Sorry but there is very little in common between Desantis and Trump when it comes to this. DeSantis has repeatedly won against the Establishment. He's removed Soros prosecutors. He's won elections. He's passed bills. He's won his lawsuits. He runs a super tight ship and understands the law.

Trump just scattershoots and has crappy follow up. He surrounds himself with idiots or untrustworthy people He constantly falls into traps and he loves to pick fights with nothing to gain.

Will the Establishment come after both of them? Sure, but we know Trump will lose. The concept that just because Trump sucks at this that everyone else will too is such an eye roll.
You are woefully naive if you think they won't put a stop to DeSantis if/when he gets a chance some day to inact his approach on a national scale...

Please understand (as most of your brethern don't seem to get this), I absolutely LOVE what DeSantis has accomplished, and I would love nothing more than to see him try to accomplish it from the Oval Office...I just see no way on earth he avoids a similar fate to Trump... His lack of flambuoyancy certainly makes him a harder target, but if the establishment thinks DeSantis is a threat to their vision of society, they WILL take him down, and they will use the same blueprints against him that they have used against Trump...

DeSantis isn't teflon nor kevlar...he can be gotten to using these same tactics...

Apparently both Christie and Ramaswamy qualified for the final debate, which is a joke. Neither have a shot and this final one should have been between Trump, DeSantis, and Haley (although we know Trump would have been too scared to show up, as usual). Another example of keeping the field crowded with the purpose of splitting the vote.

There is no "plan" regarding splitting the vote. Political opportunists have decided it is in their best interest to join and stay in the race even given that they have no chance. Maybe the party infra-structure is too weak to coerce these candidates to withdraw but it is not a plan to keep the field crowded

The candidates for the D's in '20 figured out they had two choices stay in and have Bernie Win or Get out and likely have Joe win the nomination.
They ( Buttigieg, Klobuschar and a couple others) decided helping Bernie was not in their best interest.

These guys are all opportunists, CC &VS have decided that staying in in their best interest

Yeah, they accepted a national where poll was half conducted before the cutoff date and half afterwards for Christie. For Ramaswamy they used a Morning Consult poll twice. Moreover, the cutoff date of Sept 15th was way too generous.

frankly, at this point Trump is a caricature of himself.

how any of his supporters are not completely embarrassed by this constant buffoonery is beyond me.

but his TS posts can keep him warm during his criminal trials and likely stint in jail. because he will never again step foot on the grounds of the White House. Even President DeSantis won't invite him.

pretty sure the "qualifications" were for 5% in a national poll

DeSantis is out there talking about servant leadership. strategies to help small businesses and community banks, and how to move the Federal Bureaucracy out of DC. Trump is talking about how an actor said mean things about him.

Like Reagan said, it's a "Time for Choosing". We get what we deserve.

BTW, there is no more Establishment move than Trump buying off McDaniel to have her rig the Debates so they are crowded with people who have no chance and he can have no penalty for no showing. I was ok with the idea that they keep narrowing and Trump "gets a bye" to fact the last couple or even just one but they are trying so damn hard to make sure we never have to see him debate so we don't see how bad he looks now.

One of the things most people are ignorant of is there is a significant portion of the GOPE that doesn't want to win. They would much rather be controlled opposition and grift with no pressure to actually do anything. That is who Trump has allied with and his followers are just jumping off the cliff with him even though most simply don't realize it.

I know Trump is the best option only when he is the only option, but we do need to have an actual conservative choice to pick from. There are still 0 ballots cast, so Trump is smashing nothing as of yet.

He's already done a few of them, Hannity basically just throws softballs and hopes Trump doesn't strike out too badly. Pre taped and hand picked audience.

Showing up for 45 minutes at the State Fair and flying out. Going to a football game but sitting in a Box and leaving right after. Only doing very short photo op oriented events with regular people. He's spent very little time in Iowa and most of it has been for stuff like this or last Saturday where he flies in, does a small rally, flies out.

Or it could just be a critical thinking proclivity. Last I checked its not a conservative prerequisite to believe in mass orchestrated election fraud because a sect within the Republican party tells them its true. This is like saying someone has a Dem proclivity because they believe in the US supporting Ukraine.
Beyond the tenets of western conservatism, people can decide for themselves what information and talking heads they give credence to form their opinions and it doesn't change the fact that they are conservative.
