I don't believe trump was pro-lockdown.

I think this is one of the areas where he had no clue what to do - and In those cases he usually listens to the wrong people. But he has to look like he knows everything so he keeps doubling down.

Trump denigrating DeSantis military service because Pete Buttigieg also served. Brilliant strategy!

Doubling down

LMAO

only a draft dodger and his cronies who also never served

would have the chutzpah to attack a VETERAN who served alongside the SEALS in Iraq.

but Trump is so patriotic he disparages McCain and DeSantis for them serving in the Navy-while he was playing with his daddy's money in Manhattan.
Let's try not to glamourize the Desantis' military history. He was a legal advisor, period. Not to mention that he's never had a real job, always a public servant...since that point is brought up a lot about political figures never having real jobs.

First off, DeSantis is pretty humble about his service. That said he was an Honors Grad from Harvard that is still paying off loans and joined the service instead of making serious bank in the private sector. He was in Iraq and Gitmo, it's not like he was chilling in a Pentagon office. He gave up a lot to serve.

Soooooo, for all intents and purposes he was pro-lockdown.

Or is this another case where we're supposed to ignore what he actually repeatedly says and instead believe what we're now being told he really believed?

It doesn't help that he keeps doubling down on RDs response, and never admitting his culpability in everything that happened. I agree with the following:

I don't think Trump was ideologically pro-lockdown per-se; like with many things Trump cares first and foremost how he is viewed for having a certain position. This is likely what lead him to hiring Faux-ci and Brix and attacking governors (and countries, see Sweden) for not locking down hard enough or opening early.

This is pretty accurate. Trump isn't all that well-read and probably doesn't study up on policy.

He has a narrow expertise tied to part of the economy and strong-arming foreign leaders to some extent. But outside of those areas, he is pretty clueless and has to rely on advisors heavily. Which isn't great since he frequently picks bad advisors.

Trump lying out of his ass to attack DeSantis.

New York got swept by the virus in the early wave, Florida did not.

By the time wave 2 showed up a few months later, there were not very many people left in New York, especially NYC, the virus could infect.

They don't care. They wouldn't care if Trump actually picked Cuomo as his running mate. They would suddenly become the biggest Cuomo defenders on the planet.

Trashing McEnany is next level stupid even for Trump. He is quickly running out of anyone from him Admin that he meets his test for rehire. I mean who is left at this point?

The funny thing I am noticing is that Trump's strategy of hiding out in MAL and staying off Twitter is working because no one goes to Truth except his fans. The more people hear him the more they are either reminded of what they didn't like or he gives them fresh new reasons to want to go another direction.

I said this would happen two month ago. The left wants nothing to do with DeSantis because unlike Trump he will beat their ass.

Besides, working for Trump is the quickest way to be unemployable for years to come.

All Trump cares about at this point is winning the primary so he can gloat about beating DeSantis.

He will burn it all down just for that, and his cult will follow him off the cliff to do it.

It is basically just Mnuchin and Pompeo left. Though I'm not sure either would sign up for round 2.

Barr, Tillerson, Mattis, Sessions, Chao, DeVos, Prebius, Mulvaney, Haley, Pence, Bolton, McEnany are all dragged in public by the guy. And they made up the bulk of his high level positions.

Gee, I wonder why Trump didn't get anything accomplished with the Republican legislature while he was in office.

Image all the crap she took from the left and now has to take it from the guy she was defending.
I've been saying this for months, Trump won't find 2 sane people to work in his administration.

Can't imagine Pompeo boards that train, he is pretty Pro Ukraine as well so that won't fly. I guess he hasn't trashed Mnunchin or Leithizer (probably his best hire) but it's really getting to be a small list now.

Excellent DeSantis ad just dropped. The thing I like most is he clearly reads the details of every bill and considers the consequences and loopholes. That's a huge separation between him and Trump and why the Dems fear him. He knows the devil is in the details.

They're defending him on the Trump Temple aka Free Republic. A few people are calling out his stupidity, but they're of course far outnumbered by the cult and attacked for doing so.

You can find countless posts from her time as press secretary where they all fawned over her. Now the same people see her as an enemy, someone who must be destroyed for saying something Trump didn't like.

Yea, even on here there are what, like 5-7 always trumpers left? And at least a couple of those are likely just trolling. There's also a reason they have avoided this thread like the plague. There is no defense for what trump is doing, if anything he's lucky all of his insane rants are staying on truth where almost no one will see them.
